Terra Nova

"Jordan you can't stay, you mustn't they view you as an outcast you can see things

others can not, you and Kaja have to move on, onto the next" the abundant of voices

whispered to me as I push forward. Its 5016 and most of the world has come to a halt,

the world has become nothing more then a vast plane of endless dry land with buildings

that rot and rust. "Why did we leave, where are we going, there's nowhere to go Jordan

did the voices tell you to leave again, can we please rest, my feet hurt!?" My twin sister

badgers me with questions, she always looked up to me as an older brother even

though we were 3 mins apart. We once lived in a village called the 'Norms' we never

stayed in one place longer than a month. But we were betrayed by our own, Joseph he

was promised a better life and to be the right hand of leaders group known as the

Halcyons but we were taken over by them and Joseph was beheaded for all to see the

leader's words exactly "Never trust those who betray their own." The Halcyons were

know for causing bloodshed wherever they went. Their leader, Cerin is the son of Hersh

the previous leader. Cerin killed his father one night while he was asleep, so the story

goes everyone feared him so no one challenge him when he announced himself the

new leader. No one knows exactly how many tribes or groups there are. But there has

been word going around of a group, a city called Terra Nova. There's said to be no

violence, an endless demand of food, and protection from the outside groups. Kaja and

I have been in so many I've lost count.

"Come on Kaja we have to keep going it's almost night we're wasting time"

"Fine, be can we take it slow you're walking like you know where we're going, like we

have some sort of destination, we have nowhere to go Jordan i'm sick of going from

group to group it's exhausting, i have to meet new people just to say goodbye soon

after, and these stupid voices of yo.." She's stops in mid sentence while covering her

mouth "I'm sorry i didn't mean that, i mean they always predict bad things why not good

thing like us staying for once like.."

"I don't know Kaja can you please just be quiet" i interrupt silently

"Us just finding a good group.." Still not hearing me she continues to talk "with no

problems or anything"

"Kaja!" I bark now facing towards her grabbing her arm "shut up i don't know why i hear

voices i don't know why it predicts the bad things and not the good so can you just

please...be quiet" she stares at me and yanks her arm away

"Well what crawled into your sleeping bag last night and bit you mister grumpy of

grumpiness" she laughs and skips forward i roll my eyes and continue to walk staring at

the ground kicking the rocks and dirt as i go. When i look up i notice Kaja far ahead of

me

"Kaja slow down" i cuff my hands to my mouth and yell she turns, now skipping
