Poem #11 - Broke Her

Seen her at the halls, just walking along

She used to smile but now it's gone

She squealed when she was with you

She was the prettiest girl you knew

But the words you said they stung her heart

You broke her walls, they fell apart

Even if you make up for what you did

She'll always remember that you quit

The tears and screams they won't stop coming

The trauma of the accident won't stop returning

Where were you when she needed help?

Her scars are fresh, she loathes herself

When the sunlight comes, you will realize

That her trust and love was the real price

But you sold her out for a different soul

One that can't make you happy; little did you know

She walks with caution every step

The lies from your mouth won't leave her head

The days stretched by; she was lost

Walking a road she saw you cross

But the words you said broke her trust

To live in warning and security's a must

Even if you try to offer a cure

She'll always remember you as the boy who broke her.
