He nodded slowly before burying his head in a pillow. "Yeah, maybe you're right Somi but oh lord, what do I tell him on Monday?"
She groaned and flicked his forehead.
"Ow! What was that for?" He huffed grumpily.
"There's no school on Monday, remember? Don't the teachers have this dumb meeting thing?" she reminded him.
"Ah, right" He said, suddenly remembering. "Anyways, what do you think I should do?" He asked.
"WHAT DO YOU MEAN?" She shrieked, frustrated.
"AH I DON'T KNOW ANYMORE!" He groaned, equally frustrated.
Somi took a deep breath. "Ok you know what? We need to get your mind off this for a while and then talk." She said before getting up and running downstairs.
"So you're just gonna leave me here, Somi? JEON SOMI!!!" He yelled.
She returned with a tray of chocolate cupcakes. "When life treats you badly, you must always eat cupcakes." She said triumphantly.
He raised an eyebrow at her. "Don't you mean when life gives you lemons, you have to make lemonade?"
"I would say that, but we have no lemonade now." She replied before switching on the tv in her room. "Now come on, LeeDae, let's get your mind off this Jinyoung business."
And guess what these two 'fully matured' seventeen year olds did?
Yes, they ended up binge watching SpongeBob for about one hour straight while finishing the entire tray of cupcakes.
Mature indeed.
"Feel better?" Somi asked him.
"Kinda...but I still don't know what to do when I next see him" Daehwi wailed, burying his face in her pillow.
Somi didn't say anything for a while, biting her lip thoughtfully before suddenly speaking up. "Y'know there's really nothing more I could do to help you but Daehwi, I'm your best friend, I've known you since we were both four. You've gone through a lot, I remember how you used to cry over your parents and over your bullying problem. I just want you to be happy. If you think you'll be happy alone and if you feel that you have someone better, then just reject him. But come on, we both know you like him, your face actually shows you do and maybe you'll be happy by accepting him." She finished, looking at him.
Daehwi sighed heavily. It all sounded so heavenly yet, there was one problem he couldn't overlook. "But what about the risks? We have to be real too, we could be hated on by everyone. And I don't want to be an outcast again." Daehwi said, whispering the last part as he recalled his past.
She sighed too, getting up and putting his arms around him, hugging him from behind. "Daehwi...I really feel bad for you. You are literally one of the sweetest people I know, and you really deserve something good happening to you. And when someone finally asks you out, your past is there to haunt you." She broke off, a tear rolling down her cheek.
Daehwi turned his head in her direction. "Yah, are you crying?"
Somi wiped her tears, smiling a watery smile. "M-maybe."
He face palmed himself. "I'm the one being confessed to, and you're crying?"
Somi grinned reluctantly. "I guess I just really want you to be happy. I've been observing Jinyoung oppa and it's really obvious that that guy cares for you. All I'm saying now is I'm not going to force you into a relationship you don't want. Don't take your decisions because of what others might say. Lame advice, but do what you want to do." She said.
