Piper stared at the ending of Make It Possible for a moment. She knew this would happen, after all, Nikki had let her in on it. Still, as she scrolled through the comments, she couldn't help but feel bad for all the other readers.

Well, she wasn't really one to talk. Piper was just as ruthless as Nikki was. Their collaborative project Insanity Brothers was going to put all of the characters through hell. They were both relentless angst writers, sadistically torturing their characters in the name of "development." Sure, there were other ways to go about that, but it wasn't nearly as fun.

Piper sighed. No matter how much she enjoyed some good angst, she always felt bad when it was someone else's story.

Suddenly she had an idea. Her eyes widened, then her face split into a grin.

"My turn," she whispered, and opened a new story on Wattpad.

-----

It was the last scene. Ink and Error were arguing. Nikki had decided to put the vote at the very beginning to "good" use and destroyed what had been built up throughout the story.

But Piper had a plan. Sure, Ink might get mad at her, she was messing with their stories even after people had chosen to stop. But she was determined to change things. She made sure she was wearing her hoodie. She might need it.

The story was reaching its final lines. Ink had left, and Error was devastated.

Now.

OVERWRITE

-----

"Did you really think this was going... to... work..." Ink had been laughing, but suddenly he trailed off as he saw...

"wHaT?" Error yelled.

"Uh..." Ink pointed over Error's shoulder. The destroyer turned to look at what Ink had seen.

Standing a few feet behind them was a smiling girl about the age of the author of their story, maybe a bit older. She was wearing a green hoodie, green pants, and had curly brown hair that curved around her face.

"Hey guys," she greeted in a kind voice. "Ink, I'd stop right there if I were you."

Ink blinked in confusion. "I'm sorry, who are you?"

"I'm a friend of the author of this story. I'm here to tell you that she ended this story on a really bad note. Remember how you guys weren't supposed to be messed with anymore? Well, Nikki broke that promise. The only reason you're thinking like this Ink, is because she used OVERWRITE one last time using the power of the readers."

"WhAT?" Error cried in disbelief. "I cAn'T BEliEVe sHe dID thAT!"

"I can," Ink said with a deadpan tone.

The girl held up her hands. "I know. I apologize on her behalf. But I'm here to fix things."

"How?" Ink scoffed.

"Well," the girl began, "it turns out that every writer has an OVERWRITE button. That includes me. So, I used it to change the outcome. Or at least make it possible to change it."

"...Why are you helping us?" Ink asked, crossing his arms. He didn't quite trust her.

The girl looked downward sadly. "You two have suffered a lot. I feel like your ending wasn't fair. So... I wanted to at least give you a chance."

Ink studied the girl with squinted eyes, looking for a hint of a lie, but he didn't find any.

"HoLD oN. IF You CaN ChANge thE EndING, CaN YOu GivE InK HiS SouL BaCK?" Error asked hopefully.

The girl looked back up with a sad smile. "I'm sorry Error, but I can't. Because this isn't my story, I don't have as much OVERWRITE power here. That's something that only the original writer can do. And Nikki already said that she couldn't do it."

Ink frowned at that. "So wait, is all you can do is override Nikki's OVERWRITE?"

"Pretty much, yeah."

"So then... you're just going to leave us here like this?!"

The girl shrugged. "You guys have been through too much outside manipulation. I think it's time you made your own choices without the influence of powers outside your control." Suddenly the girl's form began to glitch out. "Oh, that's my signal to get out of here. Well, I wish you the best of luck." With that, she turned around, flipped her hood over her head, and began to walk away.

"WAIT!" Ink called after her. "Just one more question."

"Yes?" she answered without turning around.

"You said you're Nikki's friend right? Why? If you're undoing her actions-" Ink began, but trailed off as she began to giggle.

"Oh. Actually, I'm rather fond of angst myself. It's something we share in common."

"Then... why are you helping us?"

The girl giggled again, then finally turned around. What Ink and Error saw next was enough to cause them both to jump.

The face they had seen earlier was gone. The area inside the hood was completely black, except for an entirely different face. The right eye was an orange and yellow swirl, while the left was the same shape but green. The only other feature was a small, blood red smile.

"Oh! That's because this isn't my story." And with one more giggle, the girl was gone.

A/N: Every angst writer has two faces.

Yeah this was bad. I wrote it at 4 in the morning. Oh well.

Get wrecked Nikki.
