They may not be the perfect family but Athena think that this was more than perfect.

Athena slowly opened her eyes, she feels numb and tired all of a sudden.

A memory that's very important to her has risen and it's so nostalgic.

So real.

The little girl slowly sat up and she stared at nothingness. Her mind was still trying to catch up on what just happened. The memory of her parents that turned into a dream meant that she misses them so much, right?

It has been a while since she has last seen them and she can't help but remember those small events every once in a while.

Suddenly, her eyes started to sting, her lower lip trembled as she hugged Mr. Georgie closer to her.

She misses them.

Athena doesn't hate her parents for not making time for her, she always knew that they're busy with their jobs but Athena couldn't help but feel upset all of a sudden.

A sound came out of her. A sob. And it followed by another and then another, until she was fully crying loudly. She tried to wipe her tears away but it kept flowing like a waterfall. She tried to stay silent but it was as if something suddenly snapped from within her and she couldn't stop it.

It hurts.

Athena has her four personal bodyguards but having both of her parents gone is something entirely different. They're her first haven. They were always there for her.

But now...

She wailed and cried. She didn't even hear someone going into her room until there was people sitting on her bed.

She opened her eyes through the tears and she saw Owen looking at her in concern. Charles was beside him and Zen was sitting across the both of them while Xavier was standing in front of the bed with his arms crossed.

They all wore the same expression.

It's concern.

"What's wrong baby?" Owen softly said, pulling her for a hug. "Nightmare?"

Athena's breath wobbled as she tried not to let her voice crack. She immediately hugged Owen, desperate for comfort.

"I saw them!" She hiccuped as she cried desperately. "I miss mama and papa!"

Owen patted her hair softly as she cried.

"Thea, baby girl..." Zen exclaimed. "It'll be alright, you'll be alright."

"They'll come and visit us,  sweetheart, and while we wait, we're here for you, you know that right?" Charles added.

She does but she just can't help it. She can't stop the tears and she can't stop the thoughts from wandering to somewhere dark and sad.

"I just miss them!"

They couldn't blame the girl. She's been stuck in this house without her parents. She's so good at keeping her emotions at bay but sometimes this happen and they're so mad at themselves for being so helpless.

"I know." Xavier softly said. "We know... "

"Shh..." Owen shushed. "It'll be alright...Shhh..."

"Please... " She begged. "Please don't leave me..."

All of their hearts shattered when they heard that. It was a painful thing to hear. They have already promised her that they'll never leave her side but she's still having her doubts.

"We would never!" Zen said, trying to sound convincing. "We're staying whether you like it or not."

"Promise?" She whispered tiredly.

Xavier answered her. "Cross our hearts."

"That's a promise that we're intending to keep, alright?" Charles whispered and Owen kissed the crown of her head as he cradled her in his arms.

"So don't cry." Owen whispered. "You'll see us in the morning like you always do."

Athena's eyes was slowly dropping and she felt the tiredness enter and she couldn't help but give into it.

Before closing her eyes, she answered them with a small smile.

"Thank-you... "

After that, she drifted off to a dreamless sleep.
