Chapter 12:A bit of a hiccup, painting the town, and a double dose of love

The cast we've all come to know and love, is sitting in professor Port's class, he's blabbering on as usual and nobody's really paying attention, Weiss is watching a holographic clock that has 3:59 on it, Jane leans over to talk to Calin

Jane:So Calin, you know uh, I was thinking that after this, maybe we could go on another date? Grab a bite to eat?
Calin:Oh, Jane, I'm really sorry, but, I've actually got some important stuff going on today after school
Jane:Oh, what are you doing?
Calin:That's, uh, well, sorry, it's kind of a private thing with team RWBY
Jane:O-oh, okay...
Calin:Oh I'm sorry Jane *hugs her* I'll make it up to you later alright?
Jane:Alright...
Calin:You're the best

the clock changes to 4:00 and an alarm sounds to mark class as over

Port:And then I- oh, uh, timed that one wrong I guess. Well the stunning conclusion to the story will have to wait. Until next time

Calin smiles and gives Jane a tight hug and a peck on the cheek before letting her go, getting up and heading to the exit, leaving Jane in a bit of a dreamy state as the others leave class as well, more than a little jealous

Soon in team RWBY's dorm, the girls are gearing up and getting ready in new outfits, Calin is basically sitting on the floor in the middle of the room just waiting

Blake:I thought that class would never end
Ruby:Alright guys, today's the day. The investigation, begins!
Weiss:I'm glad to see that we are taking this so seriously
Yang:Hey! We've got a plan. That's...moderately serious
Ruby:Right, everyone remember their roles?
Weiss:You and I will head to the CCT and check the Schnee records for any other dust robberies, or inconsistencies. Seeing as I'm in the family, it shouldn't be a problem
Blake:The White Fang has regular faction meetings to hand out orders and recruit new members. If I can get in, I can hopefully find out what they're planning
Yang:I have an old friend on the shady side of town that typically knows everything going on in Vale. Getting information out of him shouldn't be too hard
Calin:And I...! Have no assigned job yet... I can't go with Blake because I'm not a faunas and I'd stick out, I feel like something will happen with Weiss and you, but I also feel like I'd be useful going along with Yang as well
Star:Let's do this!

Team RWBY suddenly backs away from the window as they spot Star hanging upside down from her tail

Blake:Star!
Yang:How did you get up there?
Star:Ah, it's easy. I do it all the time
Weiss:You do what?!
Star:I climb trees all the time!

Calin chuckles and Star flips into the room

Star:So... are we finally getting back at the Torchwick chick?
Blake:We, are going to investigate the situation. As a team
Ruby:Sorry Star, we don't want to get friends involved if we don't have to
Star:Pfft, that's dumb. You should always get friends involved. That's why I brought Neptunia

team RWBY and Calin poke their heads out the window to see Neptunia with her back pressed against the wall, somehow staying on the very small ledge, she turns to them

Neptunia:'Sup
Ruby:How did you even get up here?
Neptunia:I have my ways. Seriously though, can I come in. We're like, really high up right now

Calin pulls team Rwby away from the window a bit before reaching out and latching onto Neptunia's arm and swinging her inside, placing her on her feet a little discombobulated, before she regains her bearings, the group then makes a circle to finalize the plan

Ruby:All right. I'll go with Weiss. Star, you can go with Blake. And Neptunia, you can go with Yang since she doesn't have a partner. Everyone good?
Calin:Uh, still no
Ruby:Oh yeah, Calin, sorry kinda forgot about you a little
Calin:.....well ouch
Ruby:sorry
Blake:Unfortunately you can't come with us because of your lack of, you know, animalistic characteristic
Calin:Alliteration, I like it
Weiss:Who'll you go with Calin?
