New Girl: Seperation and Realization

Hey my name is jaylen. Im black and vietnesse I have short hair I cut it to my shoulders. Let's see what else. Im um moving to California from Ohio because my dad's new girlfriend wants us to move there with her. I cant stand her. Ever since mom divorced him last year he became this wimp. Meet her at an strip club. Yes a strip club and  if im not mistaken she was the bartender. Anyway we are currently in the car about 10 minutes from our new house.

TEXT CONVERSATION

Ma ~ how is it there - 4:45 pm

Me ~ bad. I wanna come back home - 4:52 pm

Ma ~ well baby girl I can't control that. He has custody you know that. - 4:58 pm

Me ~ whatever bye - 5:02 pm

Ma ~ call me when you get there - 5:05 pm

Ma ~ don't be bad.I know your not mad. - 5:10 pm

I ended the conversation because I feel like she didnt even try. I have four other sisters and brothers. my two youngest brothers went and left with my mom. Michael my oldest brother who is 18 and now a senior in high school. My youngest sister is Lexis she is 14 and now a freshman in high school. Then theres me a 16 year old who is going into the 11th grade. When my parents announced the divorce it wasn't something we took seriously we knew it was coming all along. The late night arguing. The taking us out without the other parent. It didn't really hit us until the custody battle started. Mom told us it wouldnt come this far but now look at us. California and Florida. There's no telling when the mext time we will see our mom again considering that dad took it pretty harsh. He doesnt even want is to communicate with her but we do anyway. I continued to stare out the window as we were exiting off the highway.

"So guys how does it feel to be in the big apple?" Dad said. Me and lexis gave eachother that look. We wasnt even gonna entertain it. He does things like this to spark a conversation with us.

"New York is the big apple" Michael said annoyed. He mostly stays to himself but he'll tag along with me time to time. Maybe because I'm the mature one.

Ever since the seperation nothing is the same anymore. You Can  kind of say were pissed at both parents. Mom didnt even tell us she was leaving. After the divorce was finalized we came home from school to see movers everywhere and Sean and Kyle our youngest  brothers who are 5 & 7 sitting on the couch crying. That was her way of saying goodbye to us. That was 7 months ago.

"Ok guys here we are" dad said pulling up to this huge house about 3 stories tall and a long drive way.

"What is this? " lexis asked looking amazed. she's into fancy exspensive things.

"Well this is our new home. Come on"

"Wait. You do realize it's only 4 of us right?" Michael asked

"6 now"

"What-"

"Come on Mike" I said pulling him out the car. He sighed

"Babe! " we all looked towards the voice. And saw a Mexican looking woman running towards dad. She had long dark brown hair she was a slim fitted woman the opposite of my mom. She was curvy.

"Hello beautiful" my dad greeted he with a kiss while catching her.

"Eww plulaa" lexis began to act as if she was throwing up.

"Uhmm. This is Lexis, Michael and Jaylen and guys this is Hailey" lexis walked pasted her and towards the house michael went tobget the bags out the truck. And I politely waved and went to help Michael.

"Michael that was rude."

"Jay im not gonna sit up in this house and play house with somebody I dont know. Now in the future we might can get along but right now no" he walked off with his and Lexis bags. I sighed and grabbed my bags. The rest of our things were sent up here a month ago for some professional people to put up and decorate our rooms. I followed him into the house. Im not gonna lie who ever this interior designer person was has good taste.

"You can follow me to your rooms. On the second floor is Lexis room. This is where the make up room, movie room, and the inside pool. I heard you like the fancy stuff so do I" Hailey smiled at Lexis

"Well me and you are gonna get along just fine" she hi-fived her.

"Ok come on Michael and Jaylen your rooms are on the third floor." Me and Michael followed her up the stair. Upstairs the walls are double glass which is scary because someone can be watching you.

"Can you see in here? " Michael asked knowing  what I was thinking

"No we can see out but they can't see in that. would be creepy"

She walked into Michael's room first. It was Dope room had all his boy stuff. ... in it he had his own bathroom connected. This is the first time I seen him smile in awhile. Next was my room that was down the hall from Michael. it had a balcony that was a over view of the pool and the backyard.

"Ok and last but defiantly not least your room. I hope you like it. but if not i'll change it . Your dad told me you was picky about things"

"No.I am the complete opposite. I really didn't care as long as I had a room" i said as I looked around the room amazed at what I seen. cheetah print wall my own bathroom with drapes hanging from the cieling. My room was actually bigger than Michael's and Lexis' s. I started to upack the things I had in my bags from the car.

"Hey. What you doing?" My dad walked in

"Nothing" he sighed and came and sat down on my bed.

"I Know your upset. So just vent right now. Say everything you ever wanted to say. You won't get in trouble. Curse at me, hit me.do something. " he said looking at me.

"Im fine ok."

"I can never tell. Your always to yourself starting to be just like Michael"

"Well. I'll be down somewhere looking around" I said leaving him there. i walked down to Mike's room he was listening to his music laying on the bed. I jumped  on his back causing him to jump. I laughed while he mugged me.

"What you want"

"To get out the house. Wanna take a walk with me"

"Yea come on"

We walked down the steps into the living room where Lexis and Hailey were talking on the couch watching a movie.

"Where's dad?"

"Oh hey. He went out to the store. Yall wanna join"

"No I we going  for a walk. Let's go Jay"

Me and Michael just walked around the neighborhood since it was so big. We ended up in a town in the middle of the neighborhood.

"They got they own town in their neighborhood?"

"Looks like it. Let's head back home it's getting late" we started to head back home and soon as we got back dad was pulling into the drive way.

"Hey where y'all been. Help with these bags"

"For a walk"

"Oh that's nice"

I looked aft my phone that vibrated

Ma ~ I know your there by now. I told you to call me. You keep ignoring my calls. Answer me. - 8:36 pm

I continued to help unpack the groceries.then I went I Upstairs to shower and by the time I was done Hailey had called everyone down for dinner.

Ma ~ call me before you go to bed. - 9:45 pm

Ma ~ good night. I love you and always will.
