Ridiculous Moments and Anecdotes

Cringe-worthy Things We all Do.

Author's Note: Welcome! I'm glad you've decided to join me. Let us just get right to the point. Things we all do that will make us cringe hard:

First, screen recording a conversation with a person and accidentally sending it to the same person. 

I have honestly had to deal with this situation to an extremely uncomfortable degree. The most embarrassing incident, however,  was with a teacher. To be clear, I was around eleven years old, texting my science grade teacher. She was leaving the school for a reason I couldn't figure out.

And so my friends and I, being the cheesy fifth graders we were, decided to text her all sorts of things. My friends were comparing their messages (I cannot help but cringe as I type this down), so as soon as I received a response, I took a screenshot, added some hearts, an 'aww yeah', and hit send. 

Instead of sending the screenshot to my friends, I sent it to the teacher. Keep in mind the conversation was on messenger, and at the time it did not have a "delete for everyone" option. 

All in all, this taught me a valuable lesson: Fifth grade me was illiterate.

Second, Playing matchmaker games. 'Add your name and your crush or best friend's name and we'll tell you if you are compatible!'

Mind you, I don't believe in a 'crush' (my parents are strict as well. Talk about a compat-), so I always put my friends' names. 

Thirdly, turning around when you see someone you know in public.

Ah, the guilt. 

I honestly find that absolutely cringe-worthy. Why can't I just go and say hello? Why am I so awkward? Even my mother thinks it is a habit that I should stop.

You think because I'm saying that I'll try to change. No, not really.

Fourthly, talking to your friend only to realize that it's not really your friend.

I do not think I have to do a lot of explaining on this one, I mean, it is relatable; it is cringeworthy; it hurts. 

Fifthly, faking a laugh when you do not understand or hear a joke.

I don't like to disappoint people who try to make me laugh, you know? 

One time, my friends and I were asking our science teacher a question. When she was done, she threw a joke that everyone laughed at. I did not hear the joke, but I did not want to be the only one who was not laughing. After she walked away, I glanced at my friends and said with a shrug, "I do not get it." 

Everyone laughed.
