Chapter 5: Explain This

I wonder what happened

Nayshya's POV

An hour earlier

I took out my headphones and stared at the building in front of me. This was my home. "Go talk to your mother" My aunts words ran through my head as I debated whether or not I should go inside or not. Sighing I turned around ready to walk away when the door creaked open and a faint voice called my name. "Nayshya"

"Yes"

I turned around to face my mom and she looked a little bit better from the last time I saw her. Her gorgeous brown hair was all over the place but still there. Now anyone who met me and mother at the same time would definitely assume we were twins. My mom had me at 15 and my dad stuck by her the whole entire time. I respect him for that. But all of a sudden they got divorced. I knew they were happy together but it happened so fast i didn't know what to think. My mom said that one day when i was old enough i would know but i guess i just wasn't supposed to know. My mom had long brown hair that flowed every time she took a step. Her eyes were light hazel and her body figure was crazy. She was a D cup but after she had me she became a Double D. Her behind is crazy and when my mom and my dad were still married, my dad would always tell me that I was gonna have an ass like my mom and I couldn't date till I was 45. Ha, look how that turned out.

"Can I come in?"

"Of course"

She moved aside and i entered the apartment. Memories flashed before my eyes as i remembered all the good and bad times i had in here. The smell of whiskey and Rum hit my nose first before i started taking in the apartments condition. There were holes in all the walls and the couches were torn up and looked like a Tiger had claimed his territory. The once blue walls now had spots of red on it and dents. my I turned to my mom and held her gaze for a bit before pulling her into bone crushing hug. I could feel her tears pouring onto my shirt but i didn't care. For once this was the woman who was still my mother.

"I stopped" she says sniffling

"Stopped what?"

"Cocaine, I have been clean for a month and a half now" she smiles

I pull her into another hug and before I know it were fixing up the apartment. We were upstairs when I hear the door slam and 'him' yelling for her to come downstairs.

"Don't go" I beg

"I have to, I'll be back don't worry, after all I am your mamma" she jokes before going downstairs

I listen in as he yells at her because he couldn't close a deal at his law firm, then demands grape juice. When he says they he's gonna go upstairs to change my eyes widen and I quickly hop out the window and land on the tree before climbing down. I go back into the apartment building and make my way back near the apartment when I see Dominique standing in front of the door. What us he doing here?

"What are you doing here"

He snaps his head to the sound of my voice and lets out a chuckle before clearing his throat

"I was just passing by"

"And you just happened to get you ear stuck while ease dropping on people's conversation" I say sarcastically while putting a hand on my hip

"Uh.... kinda"

"Your pathetic"

I hear a glass shatter from inside the room and my aditude goes from annoyance to scared to angry as hell. 0 to 100 nigga real quick

"Meet me outside"

"What?"

"Meet me outside"

I give him a glare that says "Test me, I am not in the mood" and he gets the message because with one last head nod, he leaves. Taking a deep breath, I enter the apartment and watch for a brief second as he holds my mom up by her neck on the wall. Anger controls my whole body and before I know i grab one of the whiskey bottles and smash it over his head. He drops my mom and she takes a deep gasp while i help her stay up. She points to behind me and before i can react, I feel a stinging in my leg. This nigga stabbed me. He pulled the knife out and when he tried to get me in the back, I slapped the knife out of his hands. He sent me fist to the face, stomach and my arms and I tried my best to block it but it was kind of hard since he was previous kick boxer. I slammed him into the wall, and grabbed his head and smashed it into the wall until his body went limp and he fell to the floor. I pushed my hair out of my face before going to my mom and helping her out the apartment. Her eyes were slowly dropping and she wouldn't stop whispering to me that she was fine. But right before she passed out she said

"I love you"

Present Time

My eyes openned and I was blinded by a bright light. When I got adjusted I looked and on one side my aunt was laying in her hospital bed and on the other side my mom looked peacefully resting. For once.

"Hey aunty"

"Hey baby, you remember when I told you not to come back unless your mama was with you?"

"yup"

"I didn't mean like this" she days making me laugh a bit. The doctor walked in with a clipboard and Dominique, Jerome, Tamiya, Ladaysha, My dad and his wife followed behind.

"Well Nayshya, do you know why your here?"

"I know why I took my mom to the hospital but why am I in one"

"You bled too much, you had a stab wound right on your leg and only closer it would've bled worse and you could've died"

"Well I'm glad I didn't"

"Well everything seems to be fine with your mother and you as well as your aunt she has been getting a little bit better" he says making me Crack a smile

"You father has requested to talk to you, your mother and you aunt alone so everyone else out" everyone else left and we sat the while dad checked on each one of us.

"It's time she knows"

"Are you sure" my mother responded

"Positive"

"Baby girl, your mom and I didn't get divorced because we stopped loving each other....... it was because we were threatened. ..... they threaten your life" My dad says

"You were seven and at day care when they came in a ransacked our home, the leader had taken a liking to your mother so he said he would let us live as well as you if we got a divorce and you mother paid off her debt" he continued

"What debt"

"You mother used to be really sick, and it got to the point where they weren't sure if she was going to live. So she borrowed some money to pay for the medication and it worked. She was cured. But when they ransacked the house, they wanted money. And we didn't have it. So they took you mother and every day they take off fifty cents. Stupid I know. When we finally got the money, the boss fell in love with your mother and since he forced her into marriage by law I couldn't stop him. Also Karyn.... she isn't my wife.... she's my lawyer and we found a way out of this....but..... you would need to record him hurting her and admitting that this whole thing is fraud." He finishes

"I'll do it"

"You sure"

"Yes, I love mom too much"

"I'm love you too baby" she says
