Personality: Tristan is the kind of individual that is known for his complexity. While he's very much a guy of solidity, he's also sometimes known for getting his head stuck in the clouds. He's firm in his belief and devoted to his success. Knowledge is power and he's invested in learning every bit of it. Perhaps slightly ambitious, he aims to prove himself in everything he does. He's determined and horribly stubborn if not overly self critical. However, he balances that with his natural optimism and hopeful energy that persuades him to keep going even through everything. Tristan is also very high energy and genuinely lighthearted and not afraid to crack jokes. He enjoys boosting morale and making snide comments under his breath that coaxes chuckles out of even the most rigid people. He's usually a very trustworthy person and loyal to his brethren. He'd never betray those he's close to but betray him? Expect a cold so severe you'll get frostbite because Tristan does not tolerate disloyalty. He's charismatic in his own way and focused as well. A perfect balance of dedicated and care-free. Not afraid to crack a joke, but also entirely serious about his magic and the pursuit of it. So, overall, Tristan is a complicated character with even more layers than is expected of him.

Backstory: Tristan grew up with a very difficult upbringing. He was raised solely by his mother and was the result of a scandal. Regardless, he was often prejudiced by others who were within the coven and from his infancy, Tristan has always had to prove himself in some way. He's worked hard to not only prove himself as an individual with magical abilities and aptitude, but also as a person of color. The world isn't always as easy as it seems and even though Tristan appears to be happy-go-lucky and often lighthearted, he's been through a lot of shit that's helped shaped him into who he is today. Of course his past is easily a sensitive gray area and so he rarely brings it up, mostly because he wishes to focus on the present and the future. It's the only thing he now has the power to change and shape into what he wants.
