Danny awoke disoriented and glanced around. All around him were towering trees and bushes. Though he had taken off his military clothing and held it in his hand accordingly, and put his sniper rifle behind his back and make sure it's loaded, sweat was still dripping down from his body and soaking his underwear. He traversed among the trees like a vagabond, trying to find an exit out of the forest. He heard a sound similar to a barking dog.
Was that my dog? Danny thought, I had a dog named Woofy and we had done countless missions together, could that be Woofy?
An animal jumped out from behind Danny. Almost immediately, Danny took out the sniper rifle, which was behind his back, turned around and, moreover, aimed at the attacker. He was ready to pull the trigger and shoot the creature down. He was shocked when he saw what the creature looked like.
Wait a minute, Danny thought, It is Woofy!!!
Danny then put the rifle back onto his back and petted his dog. The body of the dog was dirty, caught and enlaced by vines. Danny bent down, removed the vines carefully, and embraced his dog. Then Woofy retraced their odoriferous trail and, eventually, led Danny out of the forest.
Where are we? Are we on the Atsui island? thought Danny, Where's the military camp that I'm supposed to check in with?
A memory came to his mind, yesterday, Danny and Woofy were going to the Atsui island to do a mission. They were on a small boat before they landed on the "Atsui island". But they seemed to have landed on the wrong island. After they landed, there was nothing like a camp on the beach so Danny and Woofy went into the forest to find the military camp that Danny was supposed to check in to. Eventually, Danny fell asleep in the forest.
Danny sat on a rock near the torrid beach and looked around. The only things he saw were forests, rocks, sand, and the endless ocean. Four hours passed and still, he didn't see anything new. But there was something drifting on the horizon which looked like a small boat. Danny tried to swim to the boat, but he didn't have enough energy to reach the boat. So instead, he rested on the small rocks that surround the island in the middle of the ocean. After that, he looked at his watch. It was 5 o'clock in the Pacific Time zone, so he swam back to the main island. At the same time, Woofy kept barking. Afterward, Danny realized that he hadn't eaten for more than 12 hours, as with Woofy, plus they were destitute of resources. That night, Danny slept with Woofy on the beach.
The next day, Danny woke up in a pensive mood, wondering if he was on the island that he's supposed to go to. On the other side of the beach, Woofy barked loudly as if he was in contention with other dogs. Almost immediately, Danny ran toward his dog to see what happened. Woofy chased a rabbit, and after a minute or so, Woofy caught the rabbit, and both of them were voracious. Since Danny was a career military man, he dissected the rabbit, set up a fire and cooked the rabbit easily, and they ate their breakfast together.
When Danny finished his breakfast, he thought that having a place to sleep and stay away from the storms was obligatory for outdoor survival. As he built the house, Woofy went into the forest to find some sustenance for Danny and himself. Just as he finished building the Spartan house, Woofy was already done with his hunting and brought back two squirrels and a rabbit.
By the time Danny and Woofy finished their lunch, they went on an adventure to the zenith of the island to see if this island is really uninhabited. Toward the end of the afternoon, they had reached the highest point of the island. There was a large forest on their right and front, covering about three-fourths of the island. On the left side of the mountain, there was a small lake fraught with freshwater and grassland. The fact that this island is uninhabited was incontrovertible. Suddenly, Danny felt thirsty, consequently, he and Woofy went to the lake for a drink. The lake was as clear as a mirror. Danny took a sip of water from the lake, the water tasted fresh and pleasant.
These became Danny's daily routine for almost three months. First, he woke up, ate breakfast, went hunting with Woofy, ate his lunch, went to the lake to collect water, ate dinner, and went to sleep.
Until one day, a hurricane struck the island, causing him to lose all his resources, but he still managed to climb onto a tree so he didn't drown, but he accidentally twisted his ankles. The next day, Danny woke up in the water and he didn't spot Woofy. He was so worried that he kept running around shouting Woofy's name. After an hour of searching, he found his dog, in a state of trauma. His leg was injured by a floating log. Danny quickly brought Woofy out of the water and took him to the side of the mountain and tried to seek a way to heal him, but he had nothing.
Three days later, Danny did nothing but looking after Woofy but he really needed to get some food, or else he would starve to death, but all his bullets were washed away by the storm and he was also injured. He was already starving while Woofy almost died. Danny sat on the mountainside, waiting for some miracle to happen. Suddenly, a sagacious thought came to his mind.
Why don't I go see what's in the boat? Danny thought.
Since the hurricane, the water level had raised significantly, which caused the boat to drifted near the beach where Danny could easily swim to. After half an hour of walking and swimming, he reached the boat, the boat was partly damaged. Danny went into the boat and was surprised to find that there were first aid kit, food, water, ammo, life jackets, and an emergency life raft and they were all undamaged! He ate an energy bar and quickly returned to the mountainside. Luckily, Woofy was still alive. After some treatments, Woofy recuperated and they enjoyed the food from the boat and they left the island together.
