I'm Sorry

"Are you serious?"

"I'm sorry,"

"Sorry about what exactly?"

"Look I messed up. I know, I'm sorry."

"You broke up with me through a text message!"

"I know- I know! It wasn't the smartest choice I made, but you were trying to return to a normal life and I- I had been busy with hero work."

"So this is my fault?"

"No- No- No! Not you're fault,"

"What is going on? Why haven't you talked to me like we use to talk, before the Blip."

"It hasn't been easy for me."

"And you think it's been a walk in the park for me! It's been hell for me and you should know that."

"I do- I do! Ugh, that's not what I mean."

"Then what exactly is it about,"

"Tony,"

"About his sacrifice that day, this is what this is about? You're having a hard time coping. We all are. We lost you much that day but we also gained a second chance."

"But- But he's gone and- and I don't know."

"Don't know what, exactly?"

"Am I suppose to continue to be Spider-Man? Or am I suppose to take the helm of Iron-Man? I keep being asked, who's the next Iron-Man? Are you going to take over, Spider-Man? And It's just- a lot."

"I know being Spider-Man after all of this is hard, Peter. That's why I took a break from Static, it was too much."

"I shouldn't have texted you to break up, but I think some time apart to let us cope from that is what we need. I know I need to figure things out."

"I spent five years without you, and you want to quit now?"

"It's not forever, Em. I just- this is a lot right now."

"I understand,"

"Em,"

"I'll see at you school or if I'm lucky and I see you swinging from building to building."

"Em,"

"I want you to know, Peter, I always love you. And I hope you figure everything out, because I don't know if my heart can handle breaking for you again."

(A/N: I thought even though I love Emma and Peter together, that with all the traumatic stuff they've both been through a break up would happen. And this story is about them both handling things alone as a single person but also being there for the other. Also, I think it would be fun to write Emma and Peter as a newly broken up couple and trying to comfort each other or give each other advice on things. ICrzy)
