"Oh dear," Lane thought to herself after Simion had left.

"I know I have nothing to be afraid of, cause I did tell most of the truth....." She said to Fyrne who had begun to lick himself clean. "But how am I supposed to get back to the library without getting caught by one of the guards, or worse..." she shuddered when she thought of Ms. Kingler, the woman who had talked Lane mother into letting her sort and clean the boring old library in the first place. She claimed that it was a "Proper" job and would help support Lane's chances at a "suitable " match when the time comes. Even though Lanes' mother was reluctant to let her work, she caved in to the idea after much talking from Kingler.

Fyrne, who had grown bored of licking himself had gone and made his way for the door.

"I guess I'll just continue following you, after all, you probably know where we are better than I do."

She got up to follow the cat. She followed him through the door into a dimly lit hall. then to another dimly lit hall. She went from dimly lit hall to dimly lit hall paying little attention to what was around her, and mulling over the troubling thoughts in her head. She didn't notice that she was passing into more formal halls. She also didn't realize she was going the wrong way. She didn't notice anything really. Until she stopped mulling about what was going to happen. Then she realized where she was.

Fyrne was gone, She was still very lost, and she heard the distinct footsteps of Ms. Kingler heading her way. Panicking, she grabbed the closest door handle and hid in a well-decorated room. Looking around the very dainty, well-decorated room, she matched eyes with the Duchess, who was still petting her very large cat.
