Forget About It

I woke up the next morning to an empty bed and a headache that felt like I had been hitting my head against a wall the whole night. I groaned as I turned around to lay on my back and ran my hand through my unruly hair as I tried to compose myself to get out of the stranger's bed. Once I was up, I grabbed my purse and heels in my hand and made my way downstairs to a bunch of bodies passed out on the floor, luckily, Hayley appeared behind me and hugged me tight as she said: "Good morning, Mar." There was a smile tugging at her lips so I knew that it was definitely a good morning for her, mystery boy from last night must've been a good lay, "Come on princess, let's go home!" She exclaimed as she grabbed her keys from her purse.

"What about Bella and Mia? Serena?" I asked her.

"Those two minxs left with two guys and Serena is still sleeping with Luke."

I laughed and followed her outside. I stopped at the bottom of the steps to put on my heels and when I looked up I saw Henry and his girlfriend making out by his car. He was smiling as they pulled away and gave her a sweet peck on the tip of her nose before his eyes landed on me and I rolled mine in response. Last night we had had sex, really fucking amazing sex before we fell asleep in each other's arms, but now he was pretending as if nothing had happened between us, as if he hadn't told me that he wanted to be with me instead. I should've known he was lying. I watched as he opened the door for Jennie and walked around to his side, he stood there for a moment just looking at me but I cut the eye-contact and followed behind Hayley.

"So I didn't see you or Henry at all last night, wanna tell me about that?" Hayley smirked once we were in her car.

"He's a fucking jackass, it doesn't matter."

Hayley grimaced, "Oh no, what did he do this time?"

"He told me he doesn't really love Jennie, that he misses and wants to be with me instead but then he's out there sucking face with her as if nothing happened!" I groaned angrily.

"Well, I'm sure he can't just end things with her that easily, they live together and all."

I sighed, "Yeah, maybe... But it still fucking sucks!"

Hayley pouted and gave me a hug. After Serena, Hayley was definitely one of my closest friends and I loved her so much, she always had my back and made me feel alive at times when I felt like all I wanted to do was waste away. We talked about her and mystery boy on the way to my house but she said that was just a one night stand, apparently he "wasn't too good at oral," so of course, she didn't want to see him again. Typical Hayley, but that's why I loved her, she didn't settle for anything less than what she wanted or deserved... True inspiration right there, if only I could follow in her footsteps, instead of always ruining my life like I had last night.

Two days later, I was fully recovered from my hangover and heading over to my lecture at uni when I saw Henry leaning against the engineering building where he studied, cooly smoking a cigarette, I was going to cross the road so I didn't have to walk past him but he saw me and flashed that sexy smile of his as he walked over to me now. I was ready to tell him not to talk to me, that I was running late or something, but he wrapped me in a hug and I couldn't help but melt into it.

"Hey Maria, I missed you." He said.

"Sure you have," I said sarcastically, "Totally explains how dry my messages are."

He pouted, "Sorry, I haven't had time, Jennie is always around and I'm trying to find a new place to move into without her knowing."

"What?" I creased my brow in confusion, "You're really planning on leaving her than?"

He chuckled, "Yes, I didn't lie to you Mar... I really do want to be with you."
