The young, dark-haired woman gaped at the two men sitting on the antique settee.
"What the hell are you doing in my home?" she shouted, her hand creeping towards the Smith and Wesson that she always kept on her. But before she could touch it, she felt something cool pressing against her neck. The woman stilled, a sliver of fear entering her stiff form.
"Too slow, foolish woman," this was a man's voice. Harsh and grating. "You should have run while you had the chance."
She was led to a chair and forced to sit. She silently observed the trio. Dressed in black from head to toe, they looked like qualified thugs. One of them, a young man with countless piercings in his right ear, was working on her laptop.
"What do you want? What are you doing with my laptop? I have nothing on it that would interest thugs like you."
The men looked at each other, communicating with their eyes. Then as if coming to a decision, the one with the gun spoke.
"We need your sister's address. We know you have been contacting her and that's how we have been trying to track the girl." He paused. "My partner here is quite good at these things. But you have been a lot careful with your ....... security." His eyes narrowed at that.
The one with the piercings spoke next. "Since we have a shortage of time, it would help if you guide us a little," he grinned at her, showing his disgusting black teeth.
She gritted her teeth. Now she knew what this was all about.
Her sister, Farah Sheikh, the leading scientist in the top-secret project, who had gone into hiding until she had completed the project, because her life was in danger. Because a bunch of people decided that the life of an innocent woman was a worthy price to pay to stop the development of their already impoverished country.
"Now be a good girl and help us, so that we could go meet this sister of yours."
"Over my dead body."
The third man, who had been silent this whole time, regarded her with steely gray eyes. Maybe he saw the determination in them, knew that they would be wasting time with her.
"That can be arranged."
Not much later she found herself in the raging lake surrounding her villa. As she struggled against the waves, a sudden light shone in her eyes. The woman whistled shrilly. Soon there was a splash, and a sleek Alsatian jumped into the water.

It was the milk-man who called the police over to the villa the next day. The poor man was horrified. Three men had been shot with dead precision in the villa. The owner of the villa, a young native woman, was nowhere to be found.

60 miles away, a sturdy jeep was crossing the mountains. At its wheel was a young, dark-haired woman. It was time to visit her sister.
