Chapter 2 ~ Leaving Suna

"Sorry," I mumbled. "I didn't recognise the top of your head."

Gaara just grunted before commenting, "Are you ready?"

I looked down at my electric blue sleeveless top with the black three-quarter sleeved netting underneath, with my black skirt and net shorts that went past my knees. I nodded before slipping my headband around my neck. I slipped my sapphire-coloured bracelet with a green jem in the centre on my upper left arm - my chakra concealer so I didn't kill someone like Gaara for instance, not that I could kill him anyway though.

I slipped my black ninja boots on and flicked my blue hair up into a messy bun.

"Baki will transport our suitcases," Gaara said coldly.

I picked mine up and walked out the door behind Gaara. After locking the door, we found Baki and told him we were leaving. He transported our cases and nothing else interesting happened on our way to the gates - until we left.

"What's that thing on your arm?" Gaara asked - well, it was more of a demand, I thought.

"Chakra concealer. If I didn't have it I'd probably kill an innocent person."

"They won't dare give me one, they'd die," Gaara laughed manically.

"Gaara, I know your loneliness..." I muttered. "I am the same."

It all went quiet, and Gaara did not attempt to break the awkwardness growing between us. How in hell could I do it, after saying something like that?

I think I said it because I know I'm lonely. Gaara might not even be the same. He might like loneliness...

"Akatsuki," Came a growl beside me. No! I would not let them take Gaara!

I stood in front of Gaara in a flash as the two Akatsuki members wandered towards us.

Deidara and Sasori, I recognised them as.

"So, the apparent-male-who-is-actually-a-female and the betrayer of my village? You won't get away with this, Akatsuki."

"Danna, how does she know you even under Hiruko, un?" Deidara asked.

"How am I supposed to know?" He snapped back. "I'm guessing she does research, though."

"Oh, no." I smiled evilly. "No, it's my natural power... I can look into one's background... Apart from one certain person, who I would rather not mention."

"Well, you can stop standing like that, yeah. We're not after him."

"Huh?" I replied.

"We're after you, brat," Sasori sighed.

My eyes widened, "Why?"

"Your demonic side, un. Everyone knows about it, don't act dumb with us."

"You know nothing of me!" My laugh was cruel, and dark, as was my voice. I smirked at them before I set off my main power...
