I breathed heavily as I leaned against the bathroom door that I had locked not even a minute ago.
Trying to even out my breathing and stay quiet was a little tough considering my heart was pounding so hard and so fast.
Hearing shuffling outside, I grip onto the toilet plunger as hard as I can. It was the only thing in the bathroom that was useful in its own way.
I start to remember what I saw and trembled at the thought of that...thing.

Sitting at my computer, I was working on a couple of assignments that I had received from my teacher earlier that day.
I leaned back in my chair and stretched out my arms as I stood up and stumbled a little over the couch because of how long I had been sitting in that damn chair.
I grabbed the remote, "Maybe adult swim is on."
But, before I could flip on the tv, I heard the clinking of glass in the kitchen. At that moment I already knew someone had broken into my house.
I live alone.
Grabbing the baseball bat I had close by, I held it tightly and took slow and steady steps toward the kitchen. I could already feel sweat on my forehead.
As I crept closer, I grew more frightened.
I jumped into the frame of the kitchen and held my bat high but....no one was there.
Was I going crazy or am I just tired? I let my arm fall to the side and I looked around the kitchen.
To my surprise, nothing.
I was about to head back to the couch when I heard cackling behind me. I froze in my position.
Turning around, I held the bat high.
As I looked at the...creature, the fear that was small grew more as I scanned the thing with my eyes.
Its face—no mask, was split in half. One side was white and had a black smile on it, as well as a black eye that seemed to seep into darkness. I switched to the other side that was a little more unsettling, it was pitch black with a white smile and a white eye.
As I glance more at what it was wearing, I noticed the black and white scarf that was eye-catching because it wore a black hoodie and black pants that ripped near the end.
I watched its movements as it crawled on the wall—wait it's on the wall?!
It jumped down and its mask faced me as it cocked its head. Then it said something as it crept toward me.
"Do you want to play?"
Its voice was a little deep and a bit rough. It almost sounds like it's mimicking.
I stepped back and it stepped forward.
"WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU?!!"
My knuckles began to whiten as I gripped the bat with fear of it running at me.
It only cackled at my response and started to creep towards me as it started to laugh menacingly and more loudly. My back hit the wall behind me.
I looked down at its hands as black claws seemed to rip through the white gloves it wore.
I felt a drop of sweat slide down my forehead.
Sprinting toward the bathroom, I slammed the door shut and locked it.
-
Now I'm here, holding a plunger because idiot me dropped the bat as I ran away like a coward. I listened closely as I heard the front door shut and I breathed a sigh of relief. It must have left or something.
Unlocking the door, I peered through the crack.
Soon fully opening the door and seeing that the thing was gone.
Walking out, I looked around a little more and breathed another sigh of relief as I held my chest. Heart still pounding, I set the plunger down and smirked at the win.
"Keke Big mistake"
Before I could fully turn around, I was slammed into the wall. He held my throat tightly.
I was staring death in the face.
"What should I start with first?"
I watched as its claw-like hand raised to my face and seemed to grow sharper.
"The teeth?"
Its knife-like fingers prided my mouth open and peered at my almost yellow teeth.
"Or the eyes?"
It pulled its fingers away from my mouth and soon pulled my eye lids open as it peered at my eyes.
"How about both"
[Your pov]
My eyes fluttered open as I slammed my hand down on the snooze button.
I yawned as I stretched out my arms and sat up in my bed.
Pulling off my blanket, I felt the warmth fade away as my feet touched the cold ground.
Before I could look through my closet for some clothes to start the day. My phone began to buzz and play the chime it always does when I get a call.
I picked up my phone that sat on my dresser and answered.
"Hello?"
"Hi, is this (Y/N)?" They spoke sincerely but with a calm tone.
"Yes, that's me."
"I have some bad news"
"Who is this?" I asked.
