My family has never been 'rich' so when my dad was offered this job there was no way my parents were going to turn it down. The move is not that far from my old town. It's only a couple hours away. That's reassuring but doesn't make anything better. To make things worse my whole family is now scattered around the place. My oldest brother jake, and sister Bailee, decided to stay in our home town and go flatting together since they are old enough too and are both in relationships so can afford it. Not to mention jakes girlfriend is pregnant. My other brother Matt has been back packing around Europe since he graduated and Leah and I had to stay with our parents since we weren't old enough to negotiate other things. Leah and I really wanted to stay with jake and Bailee and stay at the same high school that all our siblings have gone to but my parents kept saying no. I never really pushed the subject because I knew it already hurt my parents enough that their kids are everywhere. I'm starting junior year when summer ends and Leah is going into senior year. I'm almost 17, Leah just turned 18, Matt's 20 he never went to college and let's just say my parents weren't happy about that. He decided to go see the world instead. Bailee is 23 and jake is 26. The only thing I'm looking forward too about our new place is that it's really close to the beach and it's the middle of summer so I'm not complaining. All my dad said about our new house was that it came with the job. I'm not expecting much because if I gave houses to my employees I wouldn't go out of my way for them to have the best, you know what I mean? Anyway, I turn over to Leah and see her focused on the road. My parents left a couple days ago and told Leah and I we could stay and say good bye to everyone but we had to be at the new house before the end of the week. I could see how distant Leah was, I felt really bad for her. She had been with her boyfriend for 2 years and when she told him she was moving he broke up with her because he didn't want to do long distance. It broke her, but let's just say when jake found out Leah's ex's nose was more broken that what she was. I really wanted to cheer her up.

"Hey do you stop for food?" I asked knowing food makes everything better

"I don't have any money Lilly" Leah said like she was stating the most obvious thing in the world

"Just pull in here, I still have money from when I got paid out" I said pointing to a little diner

Leah was luckier then what she thought. She worked at a restaurant that had a couple over the country and got transferred to one in our new town, me on the other hand had to straight up quit.

"Your going to shout me huh? Well I'm not complaining" she said as she pulled in

I chuckled and waited for her to park. Leah used to have the best life everyone I knew wanted to be her. She dated the most popular boy at school, she had a really good paying job and because of that had the most amazing car, she's really pretty and she would party almost every Friday night and she was the life of the party, now she has no boyfriend and is heart broken, crashed her car and had used all her money to pay for it to run just so she could take it to the new house, and she never goes out and socialises no more.

We sat down at one of the tables at the back and picked up the menu. We both read it and then placed it back down on he table and noticed the kids menu and grinned at each other. We ended up both ordering the chips and chicken nuggets from the kids menu.

"I should probably text mum and tell her we will late because we stopped for food" I said pulling my phone out

"Yeah, or else" she said emphasising the 'or else' and we laughed

You see our mum has a habit of saying 'or else' but doing nothing about it so we always tease her about it.

I sighed.

"What's wrong?" Leah said as we got our food

"Their not going to be home when we get there" I said in a bored tone
