It's not like you had asked for this. Its not like you had wanted any of this to happen at all, it just had. If someone had told you three months ago you would be in this situation you would have laughed in their face and called them crazy, but here you were. Kneeling on the cold muddy ground, blood oozing from the gash on your shoulder and the several wounds that ran up both your legs, with the barrel of a gun held against your forehead.

This was it, this was how you would die. But you weren't scared, you weren't sad, you weren't even angry. The only thing you felt was pity for the man holding the gun. You knew he didn't want to do this, the slight tremble in his grip told you as much, but he was being forced to by another.

"Chris it's okay, it's okay." You spoke softly, never breaking eye contact with him.

"No. Don't say that, it's not. It's not." It came out just above a whisper. His eyes were filled with tears and his voice shook as much as his hands did.

"I love you." You voice was the same as before, soft and warm. You sent a silent prayer to anyone who was listening that the others would get here soon, that the man you lived wouldn't be forced to pull the trigger. Somewhere deep down though you knew it was already too late.

"Well, what are you waiting for. Kill them!" Gerard yelled from just behind Chris. You hated him, with every bone in your body. If by some miracle you did make it out of this you wouldn't hesitate to rip him limb from limb.

All of this was his fault after all. He had started all of it when he called in other hunters. Chris and Allison had left him and the other hunters about four months ago in favour of their new code. Apparently Gerard hadn't taken this too well and had left Beacon Hills only to return with his own personal army.

Chris' hands were shaking even more now, yet if he lowered the gun you both knew what would happen. One of Gerard's men would shoot him, not fatally but they would still shoot, and then Gerard would make him watch as he killed you himself. Chris was definitely preferable to Gerard, at least he would shoot you in the head and it would be over quick. Gerard however, was a sick sadistic bastard that preferred more 'traditional' methods or so he called them. What he meant by that though was tying you up by your wrists and cutting you in half with a broadsword. Yes you would take a bullet over that any day, even if it was Chris who had to do it.

You closed your eyes, any hope you had of getting out of this quickly fading away. As if by magic images started to flash behind your eyelids. Memories of your life, and of you and Chris. The night you met, your first date, your first kiss, the first time he said he loved you. You never did get to say it back. Except you did. Just now. In the heat of the moment you hadn't realised that just now was in fact the first time you had ever told him you loved him. Sure he had said it plenty of times but you had struggled with it. There was no denying that you did indeed love him but you could never say those three little words. Until now.

His shaking hands and tear stained face made sense now, he was breaking. Sooner rather than later he would drop his gun, or turn on the gathering behind him. It would be a massacre. Sure he could take down a couple, maybe even more, but he was still outnumbered 20-1 since you could barely move let alone fight.

All of a sudden you could hear footsteps. Multiple ones, and they were fast, running. You used all the effort you could muster to focus your hearing, trying to pinpoint where the sounds were coming from. It took a second but you eventually heard them. 17. 17 heartbeats, maybe more, racing towards you, from every direction it seemed. They were coming, the pack was coming. And quite a few extras apparently.

You couldn't help the smile the spread across your face or the laugh that escaped you. It caused Chris to frown and lower his gun slightly while the other behind him looked confused, even scared.

"What's going on? What's so funny to you, your about to die." Gerard yelled at you.
"Am I? I don't think so." You taunted him, dragging it out as long as possible to give Scott and the others time to get here.
"I don't see anyone else around to help you. A lone wolf never survives long."
"Oh but that's just it, I'm not alone."
With that an almighty roar sounded from the trees around you. Then another, and another. A split second later the small clearing you were in was surrounded by glowing eyes. Some blue and some yellow but the only ones you were interested in was the three pairs of red eyes. Three Alphas. They had all come.

There wasn't really much time to process anything else as all hell broke loose. Guns rang out as the small army of hunters fired in all direction in some kind of frenzied panic. Chris threw himself down next to you in order to miss a bullet that was aimed for him. He wrapped one arm around your waist and hoisted you up, keeping his gun up in the other hand to shoot anyone who tried to stop the two of you. You tried to look around, to see just who had actually come to rescue you but the searing pain in your shoulder made it impossible to focus any longer. You could feel yourself slipping out of consciousness.

"Hey stay with me. (Y/N) stay with me." Chris practically yelled as he dragged you over to stiles jeep. Stiles? When had he gotten here? You hadn't heard the car pull up, actually you were struggling to hear anything right now.

The next thing you knew you were staring at the roof of the jeep, laid across the backseats with your head on Chris' shoulder supporting you.
"Stiles hurry up! I don't think they're gonna last much longer." Was that Chris? He sounded so far away now. Was he though? You could of sworn he was right next to you.
You tried to lift your arm but you couldn't. You could barley move anything, your whole body felt heavy like you had weight attached to you.
You wanted to hug Chris, to tell him everything was alright but nothing worked, you couldn't even speak. Your mouth moved but no words came out. With the last bit of strength leaving you your whole body went limp and your eyelids dropped you into complete darkness.

Chris shook you gently at first and then more violently, trying to wake you up. He put his ear to your face and felt faint breath ghost across his skin. You were still alive but only just. To say he was panicking would be an understatement.
"Stiles drive faster!"
