"Please play your bets" I heard the roulette for I don't know how many times already tonight, sitting next to men betting inexplicable amounts of money with the desire to win as much as possible.

My legs were starting to hurt and it was barely midnight, I looked at my wristwatch which read 12:30 which meant a well deserved break.

I headed to the bar to let my colleague know that I'm going out for a break, a break in which I hope no one bothers me, all I want is 15 minutes of peace and quiet. Not that the roulette people were very talkative, but that sound when it spins and the music in the casino I hear those things even when I sleep.

"I'm going on break Mira, can you take a look at my section too until I come back?"

"Sure girl, go."

That's all I wanted to hear. I headed to the locker room to grab my jacket, pack of cigarettes and an energizer to enjoy in peace outside, the breakfast of champions I can say.I opened the door leading to the small staff terrace and the cool evening air made me shiver and squeeze the jacket I had on tighter around my body. It was cold for a typical October evening in Seattle.

I was buttoning up my phone checking my social media not having anyone to talk to at this hour to keep me distracted . I did however leave a message for Bella, my best friend since high school, to ask if she was free tomorrow to go out and eat something since we hadn't seen each other in a while. It's hard enough to keep in touch with someone who works, goes to college and has a boyfriend on top of it, and that person isn't me.

When I checked the clock I noticed that I had already exceeded my break time by a few minutes so I quickly took two more puffs from another cigarette I had lit, took another sip of energizer, put out the cigarette and quickly threw them in the trash can here rushing inside.

I left my stuff in the locker room, took a breath, put a smile on my face and opened the door walking out onto the hall. Good cheer and impeccable appearance being in the job description here at the Four Seasons , one of Seattle's most famous hotels. I still remember the moment they told me I was accepted, I was going through a harsh time in my life, which I don't want to remember now, and the opportunity came at the right time, as if someone saved me from the black hole I was in. I didn't expect to get the job knowing that they have big expectations from employees and at that time I wasn't in my best form, but I took it, and it's worth it, the money I make here doesn't compare to the jobs I've had previously.

"Did I miss anything?" I ask Mira as I reached the bar. She's making some cocktails, she's the bartender of the place and one of the girls here you can actually talk to without feeling like the last man standing, as opposed to my other colleagues who are bitches. I kind of expected this when I got hired knowing that girls would break heads to get to work here because of the location and the money.

"Not really. Pretty quiet tonight. I saw someone come in early and sit down at the roulette wheel. I didn't get to ask if they wanted a drink." she replied.

"Sure, I'll go, thanks a lot." I reply winking at her and heading for my section.

I wasn't really paying attention to what was going on around me, just thinking about when I was going to take a shower and get into bed. The highlight of the day.

"Good evening, can I get you something to drink?" I'm stopping right next to the gentleman in his 50s I'd say who I assume had just arrived by the fact that he didn't have a glass near him.

"Slightly bad service here, took you a while to get here. I was expecting something different from this place, but I'll shut up considering at least you look good." he said turning to me and scanning me from head to toe. Gross, if I hated anything about this job it was the fact that men look at you like you're an object.
