We now stood in Bethlam Madhouse, hoping to talk to Peter. I didn't like the look of this place at all. Screams and cries rang out. A repulsive stench filled the air.
"Would Miss Katherine like some entertainment while she waits? I can whip these madmen, They'll put on a good show for ya." The guard asked.
"Of course not! That's Barbaric, why would you do such a thing?!" I asked, horrified. He just shrugged.
"Wait here my lords, while I...Make him decent for the ladies." His hand landed on a place I would rather not have it.
"How dare you lay a hand upon her?!" Shakespeare scolded.
"Get away from her!" The Doctor told him.
"I would ask you never lay your hands upon me again, you foul man! I might also suggest you don't beat the people here for entertainment! Now go and tend to your duties!" I yelled at him. He just went away to check on Peter. The Doctor pulled me to his side and Shakespeare put a hand on my shoulder. Both just stood there and started at each other.
"Did it just get colder in here?" Martha mumbled.
"Will, how could you put sweet Peter in this awful place?" I asked him.
" He didn't have you to bring him back like I did." I sighed.
"You lost your son."
"My only boy. The Black death took him. Katherine helped me more then anyone could. She's a fair lady."
"This way, my lord!" The guard called from the end of the hall. He unlocked the gate. The Doctor and William eyed him warily as I walked inside and kneeled in front of Peter.
"They can be dangerous, my lord. Don't know their own strength."
"I think it helps if you don't whip them! Get out." The Doctor told him.
"Peter?" I moved his hair out of his eyes and lifted his head up to look at me. His eyes were wide and terrified. His teeth were rotting and he was shaking. "Peter, it's me. Katherine." I placed my hands on the sides of his face. "Go into the past. One year ago. Let your mind travel back. Back to when everything was ok. Let go." He started to lean back. "That's right." I said, gently. "Tell me the story. Tell me about the witches."
"Witches spoke to Peter. In the night they whispered. They whispered. Got Peter to build the Globe to their design. Their design. Fourteen walls. Always fourteen. When the work was done...they...they snapped poor Peter's wits."
"Where did you see the witches Peter? Where in town? I need you to tell me Peter."
"All Hallow's street."
"Too many words!" I turned to see an old witch, standing beside me. The doctor pulled me away from her and Peter." Just one touch of the heart."
"No!" I tried to run forward but the Doctor held me back as she killed Peter dead.
"Who's next hmm? Just one touch."
"Creature I name you, Carrionite!" I yelled at the witch. She let out a fearsome scream as she disappeared from the cell. I ran to Peter's side and pushed his hair out of his face.
"What did you do?" Martha asked.
"She named her. The power of a name. That's old Magic."
"But there's no such thing as magic!"
"Well, it's just a different form of science. You lot chose Mathematics."
~~~
William washed his face while the Doctor thought out loud, Martha listening intently. I just looked out the window of the Inn. They eventually figured out that it was the play that they manipulated. They planned what to do, and none of them noticed the witch appear, and take me from the house. When we got there, three witches stood before me.
"We have much for us to gain, Victory is in our wake, Katherine green is in our path, put this girl in searing pain!" I screamed and collapsed. An unbearable pain ran through my body, to the point where I couldn't move.
~~~
The Doctor and Martha came into the house, I sat, still unable to move on the floor.
"Katherine?" The Doctor asked.
"Again with the not noticing I'm gone. Seriously." I told him.
"I know how to do this. I name thee...Carrionite." Martha pointed at the witch, who laughed.
"The power of the name works only once. Observe. Beauty, a well possessed Gene, I hear by name thee Katherine Green!" That's when the blackness overtook me.
~~~
When I woke up, the Doctor cracked his back and looked over at me. He crawled over to me and pushed my hair away from my face.
"Are you alright?" He asked.
"They put some kind of curse on me." I said through clenched teeth.
"What did they say?"
" 'We have much for us to gain, Victory is in our wake, Katherine Green is in our way, put this girl in searing-" I got another hit, screaming as it went. "Just go!"
"No, Katherine-"
"Go now!" I yelled at him. He looked conflicted, but left with Martha anyway, leaving me. The pain got worse, and eventually, blood spurted from my mouth.
~~~
The Doctor walked in and saw me, covered blood.
"Katherine!" He rushed to my side and put my head in his hands. He was trying to heal me.
"It won't work. Not this time." I told him. " I have to..."
"Katherine, I'm sorry." I nodded and pushed him away. I sat up as the golden energy pooled around my hands. I shut my eyes and exploded. Once it was finished, the pain was gone. I was still lying in my blood covered clothing. My skin was slightly lighter. I touched my hair and looked at it.
"Blonde? I'm a blonde? That's a new one. Is that American? Do I hear American?!"
