The Train of Moments

Everything is surreal.

The world blurs past you in a dull haze, like a train you just can't catch.

You stand on the platform of life, dazed and confused, wondering at what point you could have saved a minute or two. Perhaps even 20 seconds, to catch the train of moments.

Moments.

They could last forever and a second or just a single hour.

What is an hour?

60 thoughts streaming at 120 miles per hour.

Yet your feet are planted flat onto the ground. No attempt at trying to capture what has just missed you.

It's a frozen physical state that has you suspended between disbelief and reality. The only reminder of the real world being the rush of wind streaming through your hair, sending it into directions of the unknown.

The daunting feeling of being tardy looms over you and you could almost hear the screeching nag that rolls off your boss's tongue.

You can taste the distaste and disappointment from the bobbing desks on the office floor.

And as the clock ticks, the smell of coffee hits you as you bring your flask closer.

Shifting awkwardly and diving into the abyss some call a pocket, you retrieve your phone.

You take a deep breath.

Ready for the conversation of damnation.
