"That bottle is too expensive for just us." Shancai replied. "$200 for just a 50mL bottle?! Tsk! You've been scammed, husband!" She added in astonishment.

Meizuo knew that the two could fight forever and decided to defuse the bickering. "So, you promise to return in 48hrs? Specifically on Monday, before 7am?" He asked.

AhSi turned to look at Meizuo and laughed at how sad he looked. "Why are you looking so gloomy? We'll be back in 48 hrs!"

Shancai approached Ximen, which she assumed the smarter of the two and handed him a small yellow notebook.

Ximen accepted the notebook and flipped some of the pages to scan the content. "What's this?"

Shancai was totally expecting the questions and responded happily. "I've always left that to anyone who looked after Fai, and now that I have two children, LiAn's information would be included in that as well. I have marked Fai's information with a violet bookmark and yellow for LiAn's. I'm sure that would help!"

Ximen focused on the notebook pages and read quietly. "Food, milk, snacks, feeding hours, napping hours, sleeping hours, toilet hours, diaper changing, book for Fai, book for Li—" He quickly shifted his attention back to Shancai, raising an eyebrow. "Do we really need to read books to a 12-month old baby?"

Before Shancai could answer, AhSi walked closer to Ximen and stood next to the man. "Sure you should! Look here," Pointing at the notebook. "Goodnight Moon by Margaret Wise Brown. It's teaching my precious angel how to love everyone around her. The kitten part! You must make the kitten sounds! LiAn always responds to that!"

Ximen elbowed AhSi away from him and turned to look at the weird man. "Kitten sounds?"

AhSi nodded quickly. "MeeeYAAoow!" He exampled with wide eyes waiting for the man in front of him to comprehend his guidance; Ximen was confused, AhSi motioned to repeat. "Meeee-YAA---"

"Stop!" Ximen prompted.

AhSi stopped.

Ximen closed the notebook with a snap and quickly pressed his right pointer finger in the middle of his forehead.

Shancai stepped in and signaled her husband to leave Ximen alone. "I know this could be new to you, Ximen, but I can only trust you, Meizuo and Lei to look after our happiness."

Ximen lowered his right hand and met Shancai's gaze.

"Can I trust you with this?" Shancai asked.

Ximen fixed his eyeglasses and nodded. "There's nothing in this world that I won't be able to do." He said with conviction.

Shancai smiled and nodded back.

"Me too!" Meizuo insisted behind Ximen even raising his hands in the air.

AhSi took hold of his wife's. "We have to go, Love. We'll be late on our flight!"

"Okay." She answered.

"Aren't you going to say goodbye to your children?" Meizuo asked.

Shancai shook her head. "We better not. You know how clingy they can get."

Both Ximen and Meizuo waved the couple goodbye. Totally clueless on how the day would go.

Ximen was sitting on one of the living room couches, reading a book while Meizuo was sitting across from him playing mobile games.
