Darry's POV

Me and Pony quickly went to Dally's house. We went inside, and it looked like a tornado hit. "DALLAS!" I called. After a minute, a shirtless, messy haired Dallas Winston came into the living room. He had dark bags under his eyes, his hair looked like he hadn't brushed it in forever, and his stomach... oh god... he had gotten terribly thin and his bones were clearly visible. Where was the old Dallas. He was seriously messed up. I ignored his appearance for now, "Dally, they think Maddie is about to wake up." His dull eyes widened, "Gimme a second!" He quickly ran off to put on a shirt. He came back in an old t-shirt. Ot once clung to his well built frame, but now it hung loosely on his body. I sighed and we left for the hospital.

When we got there, we went straight to Madison's room. She looked so dead. I wouldn't have thought she was alive, except for the small rise and fall of her chest. A doctor came in a couple minutes after we got there, "She suffered a pretty bad concussion. She might have mild amnesia. How much she might forget, I do not know." I sighed. The doctor slowly walked out of the room.

I heard a small moan of pain. I looked toward Maddie. Her eyes slowly fluttered open. She smiled at me and Ponyboy, but once her eyes landed on Dally she glared and spoke hoarsely, "Why are you here, Winston?" Dally's face fell and he couldn't speak. At least we know how much she forgot. Dally looked shocked and in pain. I could only imagine what he was feeling.

Dallas POV

She forgot it all? Every bit of our relationship, and our friendship. I want to cry so bad. I couldn't let myself cry. Ever. I just put my emotions to the side and went home.

When I got home I went and got my guitar and started to play a song I had wrote when my childhood friend commuted suicide. Something I wrote before I met the gang. I played the song and softly sang the lyrics:

"Step one, you say, "We need to talk."

He walks, you say, "Sit down. It's just a talk."

He smiles politely back at you

You stare politely right on through

Some sort of window to your right

As he goes left and you stay right

Between the lines of fear and blame

You begin to wonder why you came

Where did I go wrong? I lost a friend

Somewhere along in the bitterness

And I would have stayed up with you all night

Had I known how to save a life

Let him know that you know best

'Cause after all you do know best

Try to slip past his defence

Without granting innocence

Lay down a list of what is wrong

The things you've told him all along

Pray to God, he hears you

And I pray to God, he hears you

And where did I go wrong? I lost a friend

Somewhere along in the bitterness

And I would have stayed up with you all night

Had I known how to save a life

As he begins to raise his voice

You lower yours and grant him one last choice

Drive until you lose the road

Or break with the ones you've followed

He will do one of two things

He will admit to everything

Or he'll say he's just not the same

And you'll begin to wonder why you came

Where did I go wrong? I lost a friend

Somewhere along in the bitterness

And I would have stayed up with you all night

Had I known how to save a life

Where did I go wrong? I lost a friend

Somewhere along in the bitterness

And I would have stayed up with you all night

Had I known how to save a life

How to save a life

How to save a life

Where did I go wrong? I lost a friend

Somewhere along in the bitterness

And I would have stayed up with you all night

Had I known how to save a life

Where did I go wrong? I lost a friend

Somewhere along in the bitterness

And I would have stayed up with you all night

Had I known how to save a life

How to save a life

How to save a life"

I am crying at the end of the song. Every time I get attached to someone they leave. Why? Does the universe just hate me or something? I don't bother eating that night, so I just cry myself to sleep, again.
