MC stared in silent horror at the giant pile of papers on her desk. It continued to grow as Anna walked back into the office with another stack in her arms.

"Y'know boss, I bet if you put all of those papers in a tall stack it would be as tall as Victor..." Kiki murmured in sympathy.

A loud plop sounded throughout the room as the new mound of paperwork was set down.

"Alright, this all just came in this morning. I called the director we're working with to confirm the due date, and unfortunately, this is expected to be submitted in 2 days," Anna sighed.

At the news of this announcement, everyone turned to look in shock at her, hoping in vain that they had misheard.

...Two? Two days?

With a deep inhale, MC collected and composed herself to put on the image of a hardworking manager. This was no time to complain, especially in front of her coworkers.

Hoping to instill some vigor back into the shellshocked group, the youthful producer stood up and cleared her throat.

"Thank you for getting all the papers, Anna. I'll get started right away on the forms and read up on all the documents here. Everyone, let's keep working on this project. As long as we stay focused and put our best into it, I'm sure this new documentary will be a success."

The gloomy atmosphere restored itself into a determined one as chairs swiveled and the sounds of rustling papers and typing resonated in the small office.

"I guess I should start from the pile where I have to sign something," MC exhaled, "this is going to be a long day."

After a long day of reading, signing papers, and excessive trips to the coffee machine, finally, MC was home. Taking off her coat and shoes, she stepped into her messy and disorganized apartment before placing some leftover unfinished files on the table.

Even with the stress from the limited amount of time remaining and the expectations from the team, the documents weren't finished.

"Looks like it'll have to be ramen and milk today..."

With her hunger satisfied, MC sat down on her couch and began pouring herself into the remaining texts. The moderate size of unread papers dwindled over the hours she worked. Her focus on the task at hand was unwavering.

It wasn't until deeper into the night did MC pause from her work to get a drink of water and check the time on her phone.

The screen brightened as it turned on, revealing the time to be 5 minutes past midnight. 2 missed calls from Victor were displayed on the lock screen. The phone vibrated as the ringer was turned from silent back to unmute.

The dial tone sounded in the quiet night as MC called Victor. After a few moments, the line picked up.

"Hello?" Replied a deep and sophisticated voice.

"Victor, I'm sorry for bothering you so late at night."

"It's fine. I just called 10 minutes ago."

"Yeah, I didn't realize until now. My phone was on vibrate."

"I see. Well, it's late. You should get some sleep."

"Wait, why did you call earlier?"

A brief moment of silence passed before movement sounded from the other end.
