Chapter 28

It's been days since I've talked to Grayson and as each day passed I started to regret what I said. He saved my life but I still think he could have saved both mom and I. I don't know why but I wanted to go back, I needed to see how bad things really got back home after we left. I just didn't know how I was going to do it, I knew I couldn't do it alone but that seemed to be the only option at this point.

I started pack supplys. Food, water, and anything else that could help me along the way. I opened the trunk of the camaro just as someone approached me.

"Where you goin?" Daryl asked as I threw my back into the trunk. I should have known he was going to be the one to try and stop me.

"Why do you care?" I asked in a Huff slamming the trunk out of slight anger. This man has went days without talking to me now he thinks he has the right to even glare in my direction. I was tried of the mix signals, we had so many good days, but then it would go south for a few days, even weeks.

I was done almost everyone at this point except for a fair few. I couldn't help but scoff, when he said nothing, and headed towards the driver side. He didn't follow behind me, instead he went to the passanger side.

"Wherer we goin'?" He asked slidimg down into the car. I stood there in shock staring down at his smug face, I could tell if he was debating if I would still go with him in the car. I couldn't help but debate that myself. He looked shocked when I rolled my eyes jumping into the car with him.

"I guess you'll see when we get there,"

"Where in the hell are we going?" He asked about an hour of driving. Little did he know in just a few short minutes we would reach the destination.

"To answers I need," I replied softly recognizing the first house that would lead to my old world. The house that was my childhood came into view making my heart jump into my throat. I needed answers but was I really ready to know the truth?

"What answers are that?" He wondered as we pulled next to the curb putting the car in park. There was destruction everywhere I looked. All these houses were filled with people I knew, friends... Family and now there were empty.

I didn't answer him as I stepped out of the car, ax at my side. As of right now anything could happen, it may seem abandoned but I knew better than that. Walkers could be hiding anywhere in any of these houses, we just can't see them.

"We came a long way for supplys," he grunted but I knew exactly what he was doing. He was trying to get answers out of me for why we came all this way. One again, like the rest of this trip, I ignored his attempts. Before I answered anything he asked, I needed to see what had happened to my old house... And my family.
