FORGOTTEN MEMORIES🧠💭

THE NIGHT SKY WAS FILLED WITH THICK DARK GREY CLOUDS, that surrounded the shining full moon and the gloriously bright stars that followed the shadows of the beasts of the night. My family was hidden in a cave not far from our house from these monstrous creatures. Two of my older brothers were missing, mother and father held each other in fear, while my older two brothers held my sister and me, telling us everything would be okay, even though we knew it was not.

These beasts owned the night of the moon, they fed and shred on anything in their paths. You could hear the echoes of their food from the caves, it would send shivers down anyone's spine as the skin was pulled viscously off their victim piece by piece. The howls of the wolves moved along with the wind, slowly dancing as it went further into the forest, twisting and spinning around the trees that held the darkness of the night. As the night went on the screams of the victims got lower, the heartbeats began to get slower and the tearing got hollow as the beasts once again disappeared for a month leaving devastation and mourning to those who had lost. Leaving behind the ones who had barely lived to tell the tale.

The morning had finally come after a long-disarranged night, I had never cried during the full moon but last night I did, only wanting to be in the arms of Niklaus. He had promised to always protect me, he would have whispered sweet things in my ears until I would have eventually fallen asleep, but he had broken that promise for his selfish reasons of wanting to see the beasts, and that, was the beginning of the downfall of our relationship. That night, I had only Kol to protect me, hold me tight, and tell me everything would be okay, even when we knew it wasn't. Nothing would be okay ever again, not after Niklaus came to the village crying out for mother whilst carrying our lifeless brother. The moment my family had seen this, it changed us for the worst. My mother and father became obsessed with finding a way of protecting us from any creature. Mother had begun searching through every grimoire she could find looking for a spell that would protect her children, not thinking about the long-term consequences.

Exactly one week after the loss of my youngest brother Henrik, the true hideous creatures that would walk the edge of the earth were born. The blood-sucking, mind-controlling, impulsive vampires had been born. That night is where I should have died, I should have died with the rest of my family in the clearing of the woods, but we were created immortal. We were what people feared most, we fed upon their fear craving the hunt, the adrenaline that came suit. From the moment, the process of creation had started I feared what would happen, forever craving the blood of the people around us, the people who had become our friends, our foes, our lovers. I would never forget the second I woke, the feeling that overcame me with an itchy throat seeking cold metallic blood seeping down it. The feeling of everything being intensified, the smell of decomposing bodies beside me was gut-wrenching, the sight of being able to see clearer, to see every speck of dust fall to the ground was impeccable, hearing an animal snap a branch miles away in peace. The ability to compel anyone to do anything we ever wanted was a major downfall for some of my siblings including Klaus, Kol, and Rebekah, they took advantage of it embracing manipulation in their prey before killing them. Feasting on the fear within their victim's blood, ravishing in the taste of the hunt.

The second I tasted human blood I knew I was lost; the taste was incredible the aroma it gave me felt warming as the blood slid down the back of my throat, the fulfilling sense of hunger was gone but still I craved more, I craved the taste of satisfaction in the blood. The hunt for the blood was amazing, the joy of smelling the human's neck before slowly sinking my fangs into the neck was impeccable, and the first taste of the blood hitting my taste buds always threw me over the edge like a wave crashing onto a beach during a storm. Elijah followed me after that watching as I ripped apart each victim not knowing how to control the blood lust, I drank every ounce of blood I could but it never seemed to satisfy the hunger, one that worried my mother as the rest had learned control within a few weeks and it was then she decided to do the one thing a mother could have done. She created a spell hiding my vampirism, along with Niklaus' werewolf side making them dormant, but not only did she do that, no. Esther added to the spell taking away my memories of family, everything I knew of the world back then was stripped from me in an instant. The memories of my childhood were gone, the memories of my siblings, everything was gone, leaving me alone in the world. Leaving me to fend for myself, moving every few years when I realised, I never seemed to age, leaving behind friends, people I considered family. I was alone in the world and forever would be... or would I?
