“Wow, you're a buzz kill,” Nessa groaned and squeezed Jason's hand, trying to get him to agree.

Vanessa was a great girl and all, and Jason was really taken with her, but she could be a little annoying at times. Especially when she tore into Amy for no reason like this. Why couldn't she be as nice to her as she was to him? Then again, Amy didn't make it any easier. Not with her constant bickering, her rude and pointed stares, and the fact that she couldn't seem to stand Vanessa either.

It sure was annoying though; for him at least.

“What makes you think these people would even try to hurt us anyways? If they know as much as you claim they do, then they should realize that nothing can hurt us. Or, nothing can hurt me or Jason. You on the other hand...”

“Because they saw what happened the last time Jason and I were here! We didn't exactly leave this city in a good way; even if it wasn't either of our faults,” Amy explained and Jason once more felt a twinge of regret flicker through his mind and bubble in his stomach. “And just because it would be hard to hurt you, doesn't mean you can't be hurt. Before we left Chicago, Jason was shot by a member of the Order there, and it hurt him. They use special blessed metal, which is capable of hurting even Slayers.”

“Yeah right! You're just making that up!” Vanessa laughed savagely, but Jason quickly pulled his hand away from hers and turned to look at her as he felt his shoulder twinge a little. Even his memory of being short hurt a little.

“She's right, Nessa. Those people can hurt us, and they know it. It might not be the best idea for them to come after us, but they might feel like they have to take that risk. You don't know what happened here the last time we were in Athens. You don't know what kind of damage was done.”

Nessa's nostrils suddenly flared and she stepped in front of Jason, stopping him from walking forward. “It doesn't matter!” she exclaimed and now reached out and grabbed both of his hands at once. “So what if they can hurt us. So what if they know it! So what if they want to kill us because of whatever happened here the last time you visited! None of that matters, because they will never get the chance! Because I'm here with you now; and with the two of us there's nothing we can't do!”

Vanessa's eyes held his, and even though he thought she was underestimating what these Orders could do, he couldn't help but smile at her. Technically they had only know each other for a few days, but it felt like a life time. Jason really didn't know how to explain it, other than to say that it felt right. Like Vanessa had told him, that they were destined to meet like they had.

“Alright, enough of that,” Amy groaned and pushed past them, shoving her shoulder into Vanessa's shoulder and pushing her away from Jason as she went. “We're here for a reason, remember? I think the less time we spend in the country the better.”

“Says the person who suggested this whole thing,” Vanessa snarled back and turned to Amy as she continued to walk away.

Jason saw the girls body tense and a small amount of strange power wash over her, and he knew that she was not happy. Not one bit. He didn't think Vanessa would actually do anything to harm Amy, but he didn't want to take that chance. So he reached out and put a hand on her shoulder, forcing her to look back at him. Her body quickly relaxed and she flashed him that devilish smile of hers. And, reaching up and grabbing at his hand yet again, they followed after Amy.

Once outside they grabbed a cab with an English speaking driver. Their destination was the modern city of Delphi, which was a bit of a distance from Athens; so they asked to be taken to the bus station. Once more Amy had done her research before they left Egypt, and she knew exactly where they needed to go, what they needed to do, and when they needed to do it. With any luck they would be in Delphi before the day was out, and Jason really hoped that they stayed only as long as it took to get there.
