Chapter One: Wow I'm A Creep

It's not everyday you walk into school and here that your best friend is dating your long term secret crush...

Ugh stupid alarms, great, first day of school, yay. Usually I don't prepare in advance for school, but my mom has always told me that first impressions matter. So today is one of those first impression moments, I already set my outfit last night, it's neatly folded on my dresser.

BEEP BEEP BEEP

Oh my god shut up, I turn my alarm off and sit up scratching my head. I lazily get up and grab my clothes and a hairbrush and go into my bathroom.

I looking my bathroom mirror with a toothbrush in my mouthing my brown hair flipped to the right side of my face. I start playing some music and finish getting ready.

I walk to my full length mirror propped against my wall, I would usually consider myself as an average looking girl. But something about today is making me feel extra ready, I grab my teal backpack, do a small smile and walk downstairs.

As I walk downstairs I hear a little girl giggling and the sound of a man running around the house. As soon as I reach the bottom of the stairs a 5'3, 13 year old girl runs into me and I almost fall backwards.

"Emily, watch where you're going." I say laughing as I help my little sister up off of the ground

"Oh sorry Rose, but dad is trying to feed me burnt toast." We hear approaching feet and Emily runs behind me. My dad (Mike) walks in front of me.

"Emily, come on and eat your breakfast." My dad says trying to give Emily a very burnt toast.

"Uh no dad that's not breakfast that right there is you trying to kill your daughter." My dad looks at me with a pleading smile.

"Ok dad, that is too burnt to be eaten by any human." I finally say.

"What!?" My dad says.

"Aha! See Ro agrees with me." Emily exclaims raising both her hands in victory.

"But.." I say to silence them".. You do have to eat something Em, so for today just grab a granola bar and an orange."

"But I like apples." She says.

"Ok fine get an apple instead, and if you stop complaining i'll get up earlier tomorrow and make you some bacon and eggs."

"Yes! I love it when you cook." Emily scurries off to the kitchen and my dad looks at me with a pleased look. "Yeah don't mention it dad." I pat his shoulder on my way to the kitchen.

After that chat I decided it was time to go, so I went out to my red 2018 Mazda 3, I put on some music and jam until I reach the school which is already bustling with students. When I step out of my car I spot a dark blue 2018 Mercedes-Benz and a small smile appears on my face. The car was a gift to Lucas from his parents, I remember being at his house when he received the gift. And Lucas, is, in my opinion, the most amazing guy you will ever meet, he's my crush. See our families have been friends for a while and my parents helped buy it the car for him. After admiring the car and the memory of Lucas, I pull myself towards the school. wow I'm a creep.

As soon as I walk in, I hear the most familiar voice,

"Rose!!!" I hear a running sound and I look to see my best friend running towards me. Her blonde curly hair is bouncing as she runs towards towards me with full speed.

"LUNA!!" I yell and run towards her, we give each other a big bear hug as if we haven't seen each other for years. She was wearing a light blue long sleeve shirt under some short overalls and she had 2 small buns onto of her head while the rest of it was down.

"Oh my gosh where have you been?!" She asks as soon as I pull out of the long hug.

"I've just been outside, I just got here." I tell her leaving out the part of daydreaming about Lucas.

"Ok well I haven't seen you in forever!"

"Luna, you saw me yesterday."

"Yeah but only on FaceTime, that's not the same!" She exclaims.

"Oh my god you're so extra." I laugh and Luna shrugs it off. "Ok well I have to go to the office to clear some questions, but meet me in homeroom ok?"

"Yes captain" Luna stands up straight and salute towards me. We both start laughing and we walk in opposite directions.

Yes that's my best friend, and yes we are both insane around each other, as I walk towards the office I notice a friendly face. Lily waves and stops talking to a random boy and joins my walk towards the office.

"Hey how was your summer?" I ask since I barely saw her over the break.

"Well I could've made more plans but over all it was good. I'm sure Luna's was fun if you know what I mean." She nudges my shoulder and we keep walking

"What do you mean?" I look at her with a puzzled expression on my face, confused about what she just said.

"Well you know, she started dating someone over the break." She looks at me like I should know what she's talking about but I'm completely lost.

"Are you sure?"

"Umm yeah of course, geez and you call her your best friend. She started dating Lucas."

"Lucas?" You stop moving. "Lucas Quinn?"

"Yeah that one, are you ok? You look like you've seen a ghost. Well don't worry I hear it just happened a few days ago. I'm gonna head to class, I'll see you later. Bye." She winks at me and walks off. I can't believe what just happened. The person that I trusted most lied to me about dating my crush. A million different scenarios are going through my head right now, is this just a rumor? Did she lie to me?
