Elemental Warriors: Darkened Tides

Prologue

As darkness descends over the forest, a thick layer of fog was sweeping across the floor making it hard to make out the lithe black shape dashing across the leaves. It was late autumn and as the shadows began to set in the warrior pushed farther racing away from his problems, from his past.

With the scent line far behind him the warrior slowed down stopping to investigate his surroundings, the trees here weren't as dense showing the stars from above. Had StarClan forsaken him as well, all he desired was to prove to the clans that they were stronger together as one. He'd been patient awaiting his turn as clan leader, he'd done is duty, protected his clan, given them his kin. The thought that his sons would grow up without him tore a hole in his heart, they'd be raised as clan cats. Soft and pathetic, they'd never know true power, never understand the real strength that lay dormant behind their claws.

Banished.

Remembering Dappledstar's strong green eyes as they seared into his when she'd changed his name. It was almost as bad as watching her name Jayleap as her deputy in that moment he remembered thinking it had to be a joke. He'd been working twice as long as Jayleap, it should've been his turn, but she was honoring her mentor by giving him that position. He hadn't deserved it, he wouldn't have the stomach to be clan leader if couldn't make up his mind to eat a squirrel or a mouse, let alone make decisions for an entire clan.

Turning to face the direction he'd come from the black tom stared into the foggy abyss he'd left behind. I'll be back. Then they'll see that I'm right. Moving to face forward again Darkheart trudged farther into the unknown territory, he'd go back but first he needed to build up his followers, he needed to create an army. One that would take down all four of the clans surrounding the lake, he'd make them quiver in their nests from the sound of his name. He would create one big clan, and he'd call them Panther Clan after the old legend and he would be clan leader. 

He would finally get what he deserved.
