Summer Love

Summer Love Pt. 1

They both worked at the same sleep away summer camp. One with the girls on one side of the lake and the other with the boys on the other side. 

It was Katies's first year as a counselor while it had been Jack's fourth year. The whole camp was just under 5000 acres and right in the middle was a huge lake.....

Katie's POV:

"Hello everyone and welcome to Camp Ojibwe!!" The owner of the camp, Taylor, said as she was up on stage. Everyone gave a big whoop and a big round of applause. "We are very lucky that we have a new counselor with us for the next 4 weeks!" She says as she looks and points at me. "If everyone could give a big round of applause for Katie! She will be in Cabin Canary helping out with Ally and Sabrina!" I knew Ally from school. She just finished her senior year at Penn. State and we met each other when I was a sophomore in college. I was one year younger than her. I'm 20 at the moment. I looked around and gave everyone a small smile and wave. Taylor went on and gave everyone their bunks. 

Jack's POV:

Taylor went on I already knew what bunk I was in because my dad was close with her and she told him that I was in Cabin Oak. Third year and a row. Me, Tom, and Nick were in the same bunk for the third year together. My favorite part of summer was being with them they have always been my favorite and we always keep in touch after the summer is over. Taylor then brought the attention of all the campers and counselors to out new counselor Katie. She had dirty blonde hair just past her shoulder. She was on the shorter side. I'm guessing just around 5'4, 5'5ish. I was 5'9. She looked like she was about 19, 20 years old. I am 21 at the moment. She had blue eyes and was wearing a baggy t-shirt with the camps logo on it. Two trees in a circle with the name of our camp. Nick and Tom both saw her and were giving each other the look. 

"DIBS" they saw quietly but with an extreme amount of power. 

"Nope. I got it. I said it first." Nick said. I tapped them both on the shoulder. 

"I get her. Seniority. I have been here for 4 years. You guys have only been here for three. Try again. You can fight over Ally some more cause thats what happened last year." They looked at me in real confusion. 

"Really? You really want her?" Tom asked me.

"Nope not at all. I have no interest in getting a girlfriend. But girls should not be determined my dibs. So I get her no matter what." They looked at each other with disappointment but they nodded their heard realizing I was right. "Thank you." I said back. We stood there for another 10-15 mins. I lost track of time for a while when I saw a bird chasing after a butterfly for a while. The butterfly got away so the bird landed in a tree with disappointment. I zoned back in when Tom waved his hand in front of my face when we were about to get our cabins. We got a total of 7 kids in out bunk they were all from the ages 13-15. We got off the stage and started to walk to our cabins when someone tripped down the stairs.  I looked down and saw Katie. 

Katie's POV

I was coming off the stage and missed a step accidentally when I fell into someone. I looked up and saw him. I didn't know his name so I put my head down and apologized. "I'm so sorry. I missed a step and I didn't see you there." I said quickly. 

"It's okay." He said. He had brown eyes and short brown hair. He was wearing a blue shirt and some white shorts and had a necklace on. "Hi, I'm Jack." He said. 

"Hey. Katie. But you already know that." I said gaining a little bit more confidence. We shook hands and then two guys came up behind him. They looked the same age as him so I introduced myself.  

"Hey Katie. We saw you up there." The taller one said. He put his hand out so I took it and shook it. "Sup, I'm Tom." He said. He was wearing a green shirt and had blonde hair that fell to his shoulders. 

"Love your hair." I said. He looked over at the other guy and gave him a weird look. 

"Thanks." He replied with a sly smile and giving me the weird sexy side-eye look.

"I'm sorry is there something that you need from me? Cause you are giving me a weird ass look and I would appreciate it if you didn't look at me like that. It's giving me weird pervert-pedophile vibes and I just don't like it." I said very bluntly. He just looked at me in shock. Then he snapped out of it, let my hand go, and just gave me a huge sigh. "Right back at you bitch." I say letting air come through my nose.

"Well, I don't know what the fuck that was." The other guy said, "But my name is Nick." He had short black hair with a yellow shirt on and was pretty damn tall. 

"Hey Nick. So I saw you two eyeing me when Taylor was introducing me but let me just say,  umm, no. I would never go out with either of you so please don't try your weird guy tactics because they won't work on me." All three of them look at me in shock as I walk away. I run to catch up with Sabrina and Ally and tell them what happened. 

"Ya you just got to ignore them." Ally told me. 

"Ya, they were all over you last summer. Remember?" Sabrina told Ally.

"Ummmm, how could I not. It was so annoying. They wouldn't leave me alone but I finally told them to screw off they did, but at that point there was only 4 days of camp left." Ally explained. I gave out a little laugh and by that point we had made it to our cabin. We sat on the front step and waited for the girls to show up. About three minutes later they arrived. They all had huge bags in their hands and we went into the cabin. It was a decent size there were 8 bunkbeds and all the girls set up for the next 4 weeks. I shared a bunk with Ally. She was dead set on getting the top so I gave it to her. But if I'm being honest I didn't want the top. I always liked the bottom more. It was about 12 in the afternoon so we headed to the mess hall to get lunch. A ton of our campers knew kids from last year but I didn't now anyone so I went to find Ally and Sabrina but when I did I saw them. 

"Hey boys." I said in an annoyed tone and sat down with my lunch. Me, Ally and Sabrina started talking about what we wanted to do this summer
