I made it all the way from Benji's apartment to the park a few blocks away before the tears began to fall. It seemed like all I did was cry lately.
I stumbled to a bench a few feet away and sat myself down, putting my head in my hands. I ruined everything.
I heard a small chuckle come from beside me.
"You okay, kid?"
I looked up and saw a lady standing in front of me, an amused expression on her face. I don't know what about me crying was so amusing, but I chose to ignore it.
I sniffled and wiped my tears on my sleeve. "Yeah," I replied, plastering a smile on my face. "I'm great."
She smiled sadly and sat beside me on the bench.
"What's your name, kid?"
"J-Jorge," I replied.
"And what's going on, Jorge. You're here alone in a park crying on a bench in the middle of the day. Obviously you have no one to talk to-"
"Hey! I have people to talk to."
She rolled her eyes. "Yes, and that's why you are here in this park alone."
I crossed my arms and looked at the ground, allowing her to continue talking.
"Anyways," she continued. "As I was saying, you obviously have no one to talk to, so talk to me. A stranger, who won't judge you. Or, I will judge you, but it won't matter because I'm a stranger."
I let out a short laugh. "Okay. Fine. My ex cheated on me three years ago, I started dating someone new, Alec, I met with my ex again, then Alec died a few weeks ago, I moved in with my ex, he found me half dead on the floor of his bathroom, I have feelings for him but feel like I'm betraying my dead boyfriend, and I started a really bad fight with him."
She whistled. "Wow, kid. Life's not been going great for you, huh?"
"No, life's been great," I said, my voice dripping with sarcasm.
"Well," she said, ignoring my last reply, "I obviously can't do anything about your dead boyfriend. But, I would tell your ex how you feel-"
"I think he knows how I feel from the three times we've kissed."
She looked at me sadly. "He would want you to be happy, kid."
I raised an eyebrow. "Who would?"
"Alec. He would want you to be happy, even if that meant you were with someone new."
"So... you think I should be with Benji."
"Benji's your ex?"
I nodded.
"I don't know you or this Benji, so I can't really say, but I just think you should stop feeling like your betraying Alec."
"That... that make's sense. Thank you..." I trailed off.
She smiled at me. "Cindy."
"Thank you, Cindy."
"It's not problem, kid."
And with that, she walked off leaving me alone on the park bench once again.
Who knew a random lady could be such good help to someone she didn't even know?
* * *
Honestly if some random lady came up to me in a park while I was alone and tried to give me advice i'd just hightail it out of there.
Also, MY LIZARD WONT STOP BEING A LITTLE BITCH AND HE KEEPS RUNNING AROUND HIS TANK LIKE HO GO TO SLEEP. YOU LITERALLY LAY IN THE SAME SPOT ALL FUCKING DAY BUT AT NIGHT YOU DECIDE TO RUN AROUND?
Alsooooooo, I'd like to let you know that this story is coming to an end soon. One of these next few chapters will probably be the last, sadly. Do you guys think I should write another story (not to go along with this one.) I was thinking of writing one about Benji and Jorge in highschool.
