Birthday Outing

"Want to go to the concert?" Lara asked while checking her phone. I was in the kitchen and making coffee for both of us. While pouring the coffee, I asked, "Who's?"
"Edward Brown", she answered.
I served us coffees and while giving a sip, I asked, "When?"
"This Saturday night," she looked at me. "Should I book the tickets?"
I thought for a while. I remembered I met Edward Brown when I was in Los Angeles for work. And I will not say, that felt really good after I met him. Actually, we two got into a fight there, over a book, in a book shop, as there was only one copy left which both if we wanted. I wanted to read that book for a long time and he wanted to gift that to his sister. After that, we two met with each other in different places, but I behaved like I didn't see him. Because of, I really didn't want a bad mood.
"What happened? What are you thinking?" Lara pushed me a little while asking.
"No nothing," I answered.
"So, should I book them?"
"Isn't there any other singer's concert to go?"
"Why?" Lara looked at me in a frustrated way, "I really want to see him, please," Lara added.
Well...I had left no option without going with her. I didn't want her to know what happened in LA. So, at last, I agreed to go. As soon as I agreed, Lara's eyes shined and she gave me a tight hug. "Thanks, Anna. I really wanted to go to his concerts."
I patted her and forced a smile, so I can look happy.
Suddenly, Lara said, " Hey!! This Saturday is your birthday, right? I think it will be a great way to celebrate your birthday."
"By going to Edward Brown's concert?" I asked and kept the cup on the table.
"Yes, yes," she said in an exciting way.
After a while, I took the cups to the kitchen for washing them, when I heard Lara's voice from the living room, "Anna, Anna!! I booked two seats in the gallery."
I sighed and said, "That's great!"
While washing the dishes, suddenly a thought came in my mind, "what if Edward Brown recognize me?", but just after that,  I again thought, "How will he remember me? He meets lots of people and there will be thousands of people watching him at the concert. I think I'm overthinking," and gave a silly smile to myself.

I woke up early on Saturday morning. I thought to finish my every work early, so I can relax the whole day, and in the evening there was also the plan of going to the concert.
I washed all the clothes and dishes of yesterday night and went for cooking. I knew I was preparing a delicious dish when I suddenly remembered, that there is no sugar left in the house. It was really a bad situation for me, cause I was really excited about the dish, but without sugar, the dish was incomplete. So I had to manage it somehow.
Then it was lunchtime. I took my lunch and then went for my glass of water. But accidentally, I slipped it and it broke into pieces. It was so horrible. I again had to clean everything. I was feeling so disgusted, but, there was no option left without cleaning it.
My mood was fully off on my birthday, because of the broken glass and then, because of the chicken with no sugar. I was really not in the mood for anything. But in the evening I had to go to the concert with Lara. Because she was very excited about it.

At the evening, I started to dress up. I was not at all interested, so I just put on my blue jeans and my red full sleeve dress. Brushed my hairs and applied some lipstick and within 15 mins, I was ready.
The concert was from 7 pm, so I went in the car to take Lara. When she came out, she was looking gorgeous in her black dress. She was almost shining.
She came and hugged me and said, "Happy Birthday Anna. I'm so excited about today." I just smiled at her and said, " Thanks".
Within 30 mins, we reached our destination. Lara talked the whole way about Edward Brown and continuously she was telling me how excited she was.
When we reached, we saw a huge crowd there, but we didn't have to face a lot of problems for finding the seats. And when we sat, we saw that it was a really good place. We can see the stage directly from here.
We didn't have to wait much for the concert to start. Edward Brown came to the stage and a flood of screaming flowed over the hall. Lara was screaming too.
The concert went on. He was singing really good songs, but none of them were touching my heart. I also saw Edward interacting with his fans. I could see those existing faces on the big screen.
The concert was again going on. When suddenly after the end of a song, he looked towards us, my heart started to jump.
"I can see a gorgeous woman sitting on the gallery, in the black dress, " Edward said in his mike, looking at Lara.
I sighed in relief, that it was for Lara. He didn't notice me. I looked at Lara's face and it was glowing with excitement.
A security guard came and gave a mike to Lara. "So, how are you enjoying the show?" He again said in a flirting way.
"I'm really a big fan of you, Edward, " Lara nearly screamed on the mike. "I'm enjoying the show so much, that I can't explain. It's almost like the dream come true."
I was looking at her smiling face. I was really happy for her when she suddenly said, by pointing at me, "Today is her birthday. She is my best friend, but I'm feeling like I got the gift."
My heart again started to beat fast and I felt some anxiety in my body because now I was on that big screen.

Edward looked at me and smiled a little and waited for a second.
"How are you enjoying the show Miss Anna?" he said towards me.
I noticed the shock at Lara's face. She gave me the mike and whispered in my ears, " How he knows you?"
"I will explain it to you later", I whispered back and received the mike.
" It's really good, " I answered softly.
"Happy Birthday", Edward said towards me. " Thank you", I answered with a smile.
"My next song will be 'Girl Crush'", he announced towards the crowd. "And it will be for Anna cause today is her birthday", he added, by looking towards me. I saw a gentle smile on his face.
In some seconds the hall became dark. There was only a yellow light on Edward and the whole hall became looking like full of stars.
To be honest, Edward was looking handsome, on the yellow light. He started to sing the song with a gentle tune in his guitar. And again everyone started to scream.
But the screaming didn't last long. Within some seconds the hall became silent. There were only Edward's voice and the tune of the guitar.
My hands started to sweat as I held
the mike tightly in my hands and my heart again started to race. I never had a moment in my life like this before. I really didn't know how to react and so, I kept looking on the floor.
The song went on and I sat still there. It was the first song of the concert which touched my heart. I can see myself sometimes on that big screen, and then I can see Edward's face there. Still, he was smiling a little, but not in a flirting way, but in a beautiful way.
" Edward Brown is singing this for you Anna", Lara whispered to me. I didn't look at her but smiled on my own ,cause I never thought this can happen.
After some minutes the song ended. I kept holding the mike. Edward again looked towards me and said, "I hope you liked it".
" Yes! Thank you, Edward, " I answered.

It was almost 11 pm when the concert ended. We two went to our car and drove away. "It was so awesome no? I will never ever forget about this", Lara said on the way.
" Yes, I'm also going to remember this", I answered.
"I told you, it will be a great way to celebrate your birthday."
"You were right".

That night I kept thinking about the concert, the song, the tune of the guitar and Edward. It was all so magical for me. When I was closing my eyes, I was seeing Edward's smiling face in front of me, and the song was playing in my ears. I don't know when I fell asleep that night.
