But strings are being pulled and pulled tight, freedom was not negotiable neither was her free will, the will to do what she wanted will soon be sniffed out with lies and neglect. Yet all that is wrong could be right as the wolf let out a noise like a cats purr, Elly relaxed and let a pure loving smile bless her worn and tired face, a rare smile that is no longer seen by the world.
The two strange friends stayed there the entire night, while Elly slept the wolf around her stayed awake looking out for any danger, actually almost wishing for it as it would give him a reason for her to run, a reason for him to hide her and protect her with his life. Nothing came, the opposite always happens when you want it, when someone wishes for peace, trouble always knocking.
Dawn came much quicker than the wolf would have wanted the time he spent the small girl always seemed to go much faster than he would have liked. The clouds that covered the night sky where chased away by the sun with a frozen breeze with it. Elly felt the chill and curled into the wolves warm soft side and slept on for several more hours although she didn't care if she was late to her father's nasty lessons with his perverted friends, who would love to do the nasty with the small girl with a heart of gold.
Elly stirred, rubbing her eye and keeping a hand on the gray fur as if she were fearful that he would disappear, they got up together. If Elly's hair was longer it would have been a mess and over her eyes, maybe when she is out of here, she'll grow it out. Elly looked in to the violet eyes and began to silently pleaded, asking before she could even speak, the wolf whined with worry and concerned; he knew the question and as much as he wanted to say yes, he knew the risks.
"Would you please take me with you?" Elly asked in a low whisper, her white eyes asked nothing of the world but something of the wolf.
The wolf nodded and Elly jumped up with glee and flung herself around the ash wolf. The wolf was worried; would they make it out of the grounds? He thought. They pulled apart and they wolf pulled out one of his many tricks and morphed into a rare form that Elly promised to keep a secret.
The wolf turned into a man, he trenched out his strong limbs some cracked with satisfaction, he would try talking but his voice was hardly used and it felt unfamiliar so he would use his hands to talk. He grabbed Elly's hand and pulled her to the hidden hold in the hedge, he nudged her to go first. He could see she was nervous but determined, she wanted just as much as he wanted her to come with him.
She was through and he wasn't too far behind. He knew the way out like the back of his hand; he had engraved it into his memory. Elly kept close to him not knowing the way, not knowing where to go from here. So he took the lead while firmly taking Elly's hand and ran off in what seems to be a random direction but he knew it was the right one.
They jumped over wild tree roots, ducked under low hanging branches; they had to stop a few time so he could listen to the movements of unseen people but Elly knew they were maybe more than usual since she was not in the comforts of her home.
Twigs snapped and bushes rustles, someone was coming, they tensed and moved to hide behind an overly large tree, it concealed both of them quick was lucky really. A bark echoed through the trees and all the tension left his body but Elly was still so nervous. He pulled her gently along with him; the bark came from a ginger and brown wolf, to Elly it looked unfamiliar and this worried her to no extent but to him this was a great timing of his pack member.
The wolf growled lightly at the sight of Elly, the wolf completely missed the fact they were holding hands. He growled back in an aggressive and protective manner, the wolf quickly backed down; Elly didn't really know about the hierarchy of wolves, maybe she will ask about it later if they get there in one piece.
The man and the wolf seemed to be having their own conversation without speaking, the man nodded then turned to Elly.
"When I change hop on my back and I'll make sure we got out of here in one piece" his voice was rough, horse and deep, it would have been a pleasant sound if it wasn't so strained from lack of use.
Elly met colored eyes and nodded stiffly, she was unsure about riding a wolf. The man turned back in to the gray wolf with his bright purple eyes, he remained low to the ground to allow Elly to swing a leg over his strong, powerful body. She did do not know how she would hold on, but she didn't have time to ponder this as the wolves began to move. At first it was a simple trot that shook the girl on the wolf's back, then they began to get faster and Elly had closed her eyes not wanting to be more of a burden and her arms had attached themselves around the neck of the wolf.
This was a lot longer then it was meant to be
But hey who's complaining?
