Part III

As one might've guessed, Jisoo and Jennie settled into their new home rapidly and with ease. The weeks breezed by, Jisoo in a seemingly endless series of phases and changes to her body, with the expected due date swiftly approaching.

Jennie, of course, was by her side through it all, and in true Jennie Rubyjane Kim fashion, she'd managed not only to pamper Jisoo beyond her wildest dreams, but also to keep their lives adventurous and exciting, the way Jisoo liked it.

Their home was coming together nicely.

Thanks to the welcoming party they'd thrown, both Dara and Jennie's parents had showered them in housewarming gifts, After that, they had no shortage of furniture.

Every morning, the two would roam about the grounds, with Fish bounding around their ankles, Goose grumpily watching from his perch on the windowsill.

Jena's treehouse (Jennie had proudly dubbed it that after their date) stood tall in the yard, a reminder of the new life that was about to join them.

There were plants growing in the new garden they'd worked on together. (Though, Jisoo was too pregnant to bend, and made Jennie promise that they'd do it again when she was recovered from the pregnancy).

A few footballs littered the ground from Jennie's game, with a few of her teammates, and of course Bogum and Chaeyoung.

One of Jisoo's many easels was off to the side, a few brushes here and there in case inspiration ever struck her in the tranquility of their yard.

Everywhere they looked, signs of their life, their unique print, were evident.

It had been a long time coming. This was the result of years of building a life together, but they'd finally done it.

Together, they'd made their dream home a reality, and just in time for the baby's arrival.

"Jisoo? You better not be painting the wall again-" Jennie's voice quieted when she stepped into their living room.

Jisoo was splayed out on the couch, one hand resting on her now round and full belly, the other clutching a hardcover book.

She glanced up with a mischievous smile, and Jennie found her heart hammering in her chest.

Fish trotted in behind Jennie, coming to curl up comfortably at Jisoo's side, panting happily when she reached to scratch his ears.

"Not on your feet then." Jennie cleared her throat. "Good."

"Enjoy this, because this is the only time I'll actually heed any of your warnings." Jisoo informed her cheekily.

"Lucky me." Jennie smirked, coming to sit beside her wife, laying a hand on her stomach. "And how are we feeling?"

"...Same as the last time you checked, fifteen minutes ago." Jisoo grinned.

Jennie blushed, looking sheepish.

"Someone's excited." Jisoo bit down to keep from grinning fully, cupping Jennie's face in her hands as she leaned over her.

"Sorry."

"Don't be. I live for this stuff." Jisoo replied honestly, leaning forward to enjoy a delicate kiss.

Jennie was beautiful, sentence ushered away by Jisoo's kiss, lashes fluttering as she was distracted by Jisoo's nearness.

"I can't wait for you to be a mom." Jisoo murmured, leaning back. "Your smile makes this whole thing..." She gestured to her stomach. "...Worth it." She finished, taking in Jennie's bright brown eyes, absolutely gleaming with excitement.
