when i was accepted, i was introduced to the staff and other kids around my age or older that were also there as volunteers. we all were assigned to a worker and a patient.
our main job was to keep the patient company since we weren't really allowed to do much else. i didn't really like my worker too much, he was quite mean and would often tell me off if i spoke too much.
we didn't start really interacting with the patients until about a week in. during that week, we were taught about the procedures and tools used, though we wouldn't be using tools.
we were basically nannies. all we had to do everyday was bring food to our patient and spend time with them. we were told to treat them they any other person we'd bump into, so i did.
