Part21_Silent lazy steps

Holding that frame Daniel smiled and his fingertips caressed at the glass with pure love in his eyes. It was Alexander's picture.

“I’m sorry. Don’t be angry. I...I saw this picture in your drawer and without your permission I took it....!” she apologised, totally failed to control her tears.

“Daniel. I’m sorry. How much I try to forget Alexander, I'm not able to. Please forgive me....!” she cried hiding her face in her palms. Daniel stood up and placed that frame at one corner table. Victoria looked up at picture surprisingly and then back towards Daniel, who came back and sat in her feet on the floor. He removed her pumps and she gasped when he picked her up into his arms.

After placing her at bed he removed his blazer and shoes before slipping into bed with her. She was still looking at him like he was complicated puzzle and she was eager to solve it. He pulled her against his chest, placing his chin at her head he closed his eyes.

“Im sorry....!” she sobbed once again, burying her face into his chest. 

“Don’t say sorry my princess. I could never be angry at you, you have every right to have Alexander's pictures. I don’t want you to forget him as well. But you can't stop me to love you. Its my right. I don’t want to snatch the place, you reserved for my Alexander but I would try to fill the emptiness, he left in your heart. We both love him equally, then why would I ask you to forget him. That idiot never thought about us, always stubborn head. And see this time he punished us in worst way. He left you, he left me. Forever. How much we both cry in this endless pain, he wont come back. So why not help each other to heal from this agony....!” he kept mumbling, and letting her cry. Victoria cried more, but this time these tears weren’t for Alexander but for Daniel.  

“How selfish I’m. I always remained lost in my world, I thought it was just me who’s world got crushed but I never thought about you, who lost even the last person of his family also. I don’t deserve to be called even a human....!” she sobbed hugging him tightly. This time he chuckled but said nothing. He couldn’t stop a stubborn lone tear, it fell at the side of her face.

“Don’t worry about me princess, I'm really hard. There isn’t anything, that can harm me. Mom left with another rich old man. Leaving us both. I survived. Dad started drinking and earning money day and night, still my breaths remained loyal to me, then one day he also died leaving both of us alone for each other. I still remained alive. Then Alexander also left me, see how lucky I'm here, even after burying my soul along my Alex, my heart still beating, see It didn’t stop....!” he said his last words while pressing her palm against his chest. Shaking her head she placed her hand at his mouth.

“Please...!” she couldn’t even listen the pain, he went through. And here since years, she was thinking just about herself. She wasn’t there when her friend needed her.

It was almost 2 pm when Daniel's phone vibrated in his pants pocket. He gently made himself free from her tight hold. Placing her head gently at pillow, he pulled out his mobile. It was call from office. Daniel picked the call after coming out of her room, because he knew it, it must be an urgent otherwise Manik would never disturb him.

“Hello....!” Daniel answered the call, while wearing his shoes after sitting at couch in living room.

“When, What happened. In which hospital....!” Daniel ran straight towards his car. After informing guard he turned his car back and left the mansion. He raced his car at full speed. 30 minute distance towards hospital, Daniel covered into 15 minutes. When he reached hospital, nurse informed him that doctors taking his all tests. He took out his mobile and dialled cabir's number.
