Part21_Silent lazy steps

“Yes, yes, One, two, three....!” Manik tickled into Aaron's belly. Three of them laughing, like there was never any pain in their lives.

After getting ready and having breakfast, today Manik was going to attend his office back. He was joining his office first time with his real identity. Every one at office was excited to welcome him. Nandni can feel uneasy frowns at his face. Taking his laptop and all other necessary things Manik went out, where his driver was ready to drop him at office.

“Manik....!” nandni stopped him when he was going to sit in his car.

“Yes. Don’t say you want goodbye kiss here....!” manik whispered,  showing fake shocked expressions like there is nothing more embarrassing than kissing her at front of his driver and all other guards. Nandni rolled her eyes at her drama-king.

“Manik don’t be harsh at Victoria and Daniel. You know she lost Alexander, her only love. Even Daniel also lost his brother. They didn't want to keep you in any darkness. It was your condition they were scared of. Even we all, your own family, couldn’t tell you the truth because we were afraid of you slipping into comma once again....!” Nandni said after coming closer to Manik.

“you saying that. You...? Who suffered so much cause of them....!” Manik asked crossing his arms against his chest. Clearly not pleased at her suggestions. 

“Yes. Its me saying. Because I know how it feels when you lose your loved ones. I know which pain Victoria went through, that even at the end she lost her mind. Just looking at any stranger's injured body, see thinks its her Alexander. Can you imagine the limit of her pain. Please Manik forgive them. Please move on....?” Nandni pleaded, her breaths hitched like she was hardly controlling her sobs. Manik took deep breath. He held her shoulders, and squeezed them gently.

“I will try. Ok....?” manik said, moving down he placed kiss at her forehead.

“Take care. Bye...!” Opening his car door, he slipped inside at rich leather of his shiny car. He waved his hand before signalling the driver to move.

Manik entered directly in meeting room, where whole staff was already present. They all were happy for him. They congratulated him and gave a warm welcome. Manik smiled and thanked every one.

Soon meeting got started. Discussing everything happened in his absence. During whole meeting, manik avoided to see directly towards Daniel or Victoria. He knew it, he have to face them, but later, not now when he was feeling his headache getting severe. As meeting was over, whole staff left but he was sure and same happened. Daniel didn’t leave, and stayed so that every one leave first. As Manik and Daniel left alone, Manik also stood up to leave. Before he takes a single step ahead, Daniel stopped him.

“Manik we need to talk...!” Daniel asked, standing from his seat as well.

“What you want to say. There is nothing to talk about...!” manik muttered without looking back towards him.
“About Victoria...!” as Daniel took her name, Manik sighed before fixing his anger-filled eyes back at Daniel. Nodding his head, Manik went back and sat at his previous chair.

“Miss Victoria Mr Malhotra and Mr Daniel are asking you to come in meeting room. Victoria nodded her head but her heart was thumping wildly against her ribs. During the meeting she got succeeded to avoid Manik but now she have no chance to not go and face him. But thinking about Daniel, that he also would be there, she tried to composed herself.
