The sun was coming up. It was almost time for me to go. As the grim reapers hopped from place to place, I sped up to be beside my father: Death, the lord of grim reapers and the king of the dead.
"Hey, Father," I said, jumping to a lamppost and then to a roof. We were wearing black hooded cloaks, so no one could see what we looked like. "I have something to tell you."
"Can it wait, Arius?" he asked, sounding slightly annoyed. "We have plenty of souls to capture, lots of work to do." The next time we landed on a roof, I got in front of him so he couldn't continue traveling. He sighed, then looked at me, our red eyes meeting. "What is it, Arius?"
Now that the time had come to tell him, I was getting kind of nervous. I rubbed the back of my neck. "Well, um..."
"Arius, we don't have time for this," Father growled. "Hurry up, or say it to me when we return to the palace of the dead."
"No, no!" I said hurriedly.
"Lord Death, Prince Arius!" a grim reaper called to us, making us look at him.
"We have to go," Father told me, stepping forward.
"I'mgoingtobeattendingaschoolonEarth okay bye!"
I vanished, quickly teleporting to the main palace's throne room as Father exclaimed angrily, "WHAT?!!"
"King Satan!" I said, my uncle perking up in his obsidian-and-lapis lazuli throne.
"Ah, Arius," he replied, nodding as a greeting. "You've come for your school uniform and human money, right?"
"Yeah," I answered. "Thanks for helping me keep it hidden from my father."
He smiled. "Anytime. I love knowing something that my little brother doesn't." He snapped his fingers, and my uniform dropped into my arms, followed by a wallet (something humans use to store money, according to a book I read) and a cell phone (a non-magical device that humans use to communicate with each other over long distances, which I also read in a book). "Speaking of which, have you broken the news to him yet?"
"Yes, I just did," I informed him, checking the black leather wallet to make sure everything was in it. "Thanks, Uncle Satan."
"You should get to school," he told me. "I believe it's almost 6 A.M. for Japan."
"Alright, thanks again," I said, disappearing.
"Oh, and watch out for the grim reapers, Arius," King Satan warned me. "They should be out on Earth 'til nightfall."
I couldn't reply, but I was grateful for the tip. It would be pretty bad if Father and the grim reapers came parading into Ouran Academy. That's the school I was to attend. Today was my first day, and I'd already enrolled myself as a transfer student.
When I arrived in my chambers at the palace of the dead, I placed my uniform, wallet, and phone on my bed. Opening the right side of my cloak, I let Snowfall jump off of my shoulder and onto my bed, where my beautiful white cat sat down next to my human stuff, looking up at my tall figure with her lightish-blue eyes. She looked away as I quickly changed out of my grim reaper uniform and into the boys' high school uniform for Ouran Academy. I put both my black cell phone and my wallet into my pants's right pocket, then let Snowfall leap onto my right shoulder and perch herself there.
"You ready?" I asked her.
She nodded slightly, and I laughed a bit. A red satanic symbol appeared beneath me as I teleported into an alley near Ouran Academy. My tail twitched nervously as I peeked out of the alley and at the enormous pink school.
"Ooh, that really is quite the sight." My reflexes made me turn to punch the source of the voice, but he easily dodged my fist. "Now now, Arius, is that any way to treat your amazing uncle, who helped you duke your father?"
"King Satan!" I exclaimed, out of both surprise and relief.
He laughed. "Who else did you think it was, Death?" He grunted indignantly. "My ignorant little brother would rather die than show himself to humans."
"Why are you here?" I asked.
"I figured you'd forget something really important," he explained, "so I came here to remind you." He reached out to my head and started messing with my black hair. "And tuck in your tail, so people won't notice it. Try to keep it as still as you can, while you're near humans."
I did as he said, putting my tail into my left pant leg and keeping it straight. It was almost down to my ankle, but a little bit above.
"... What are you doing with my hair, King Satan?" I asked stupidly.
"Trying to style it so that it covers your ears..." he answered absentmindedly, continuing with what he was doing. Finally, he stepped back and examined his work. "This will have to do." I could feel that my hair covered the majority of my long, pointy ears. "You should try not to emphasize your fangs in any way, too."
"'Kay, thanks," I said.
"No problem," he replied. "I forgot to give you this, too, by the way." He handed me my schoolbag. I sweatdropped at the fact that I forgot of its existence. "Have a good day at school."
"Yeah, thanks!" I told him as I ran off toward Ouran.
I tried to keep my tail in line with my leg, despite me being excited, and approached the humongous pink school. I hesitated at the entrance, gazing up at it. With a deep breath, I put on a brave face and walked in.
"I hope my first day will be good," I thought. "And hopefully people will be nice to me. Maybe I can even make some friends! I've never had any friends before, since I've always been kept either at the palace of the dead or out collecting souls."

Meanwhile, unaware to me (since I was too distracted by my first day at school to be able to smell the emotions), my uncle, the feared king of Hell, was crying like a proud father as he watched me enter Ouran Academy.
