"Shysie Sheherazade, you are under arrest for committing murder," one of them said.
As my body shivered with fear, I stepped back from the door. Libby's eerie laugh added to the tension. No. I'm not going to get caught like this. I haven't taken any action to clear my name yet.
"Ano ba 'yan! Bakit kasi hindi pa sila ang magbukas ng pinto?" Libby snorted. "Mga wala ba silang kamay? Tulungan ko kaya sila, Shysie?"
I gave her a harsh look, hoping she'd be terrified, but she just laughed even louder. Something is certainly wrong with her.
"Ms. Shysie Sheherazade, lumabas kana, kung hindi mapipilitan kaming pumasok at hilain ka palabas," pagbabanta nila.
"Pst ate," pagtawag ni Libby. "Kung ako sa 'yo lumabas kana, baka kapag ako pa ang nagbukas ng pinto saktan ka nila."
I bit my lower lip as my entire body shook. The memory from my birthday washed over me. Edward and Wynsleth teamed up to frame me, and now I'm in the same situation. Vincent most likely left because he had called them. What ever did I do to deserve this? I didn't hurt anyone, and I lived my life quietly. Why do I have to suffer? Why, why, why?
I touched my face and didn't realise I was crying. My vision is beginning to blur. My legs began to sway. I no longer have the strength to flee. I suppose this was it. It's my loss.
I could hear the door creak open. They've arrived.
Someone snatched my hand and dragged me away. I didn't bother looking up because I was about to pass out. It's all right, Shysie. At the very least, you'll be able to rest in peace.
When we got outside, they put a sack over my head. I couldn't afford to stay awake any longer, so I let myself be swayed by my sleepiness. In the end, he didn't show up. Vincent...
"Gigisingin na ba natin sila?"
"Ano bang sabi ni Boss?"
"Wala pang utos galing sa kanya."
"O bakit ka nagdedesisyon mag-isa diyan?"
"Pala-desisyon ka talaga."
They are barely audible to me. There are at least five other people here with me. My head throbbed, and I groaned. Fuck! Were they able to hear me? I tried to move, but my hands and feet remained incapacitated.
"Mukhang gising na 'yung isa. Anong gagawin natin?" a man with a childish voice murmured
"Alisin na kaya natin 'yung sako sa ulo nila?" this time, babae naman ang nagsalita.
"Baka nahihirapan na sila sa paghinga," another man in his fifties added.
As I continue to listen to them, I become increasingly perplexed. Are these the same people who attempted to arrest me? Why do they appear to be concerned about me?
As I heard footsteps approaching, the surrounding area became quiet. Is that Edward? With the thought of it, I subconsciously clench my teeth. I want to stab him multiple times.
"What are you doing?" the man shouted. "Bakit nasa ganyang kalagayan pa 'yang dalawa?"
It was not Edward. Their voices are noticeably different. Edward's voice was calm and collected, whereas this man's voice was baritone and authoritative.
