You sit in Shawn's car, looking out the window, tears streaming down your face. You can feel Shawn glance at you. Then you feel the car stop. Shawn's face pops up in the window. You move your elbow, but you don't get out of the car. "Saerin, please get out at least." He asks. When you don't respond or move, he lifts you up. You wrap your arms around his neck and let the tears finally flow. He gets in his penthouse and sets you down on the day bed. Your skin is pale-ish (Indian people don't really pale) and your lip gloss is smeared and your lips are chapped. Mascara is smeared all over your face. You don't let go of Shawn. He hugs you and your tears flow more. You can feel his shirt get covered in your tears. You don't speak or make a sound. You let go to wipe your face. You also hadn't eaten since the morning, so your stomach grumbles. You don't want to eat, you just want to die. Shawn brings you some water and some chocolate. "Please eat Saerin, you haven't eaten since this morning. I know because it's one of those days..." he stops talking. "At least drink." You stare blankly as your tears fall. Shawn puts down the water and hugs you. You finally start to cry. "I should've been there... then I would be with them..." you try to say in between sobs. He cups your face in his hands. "Don't say that. Your family wouldn't want you to punish yourself like this. They would've wanted you to be happy and move on..." he says while wiping your tears. "Even the baby's gone..." you say, remembering your aunt's newborn. That makes you cry even more. "It's okay Saerin, it's gonna be okay..." he says soothingly. You look up into his eyes. He wipes your tears away. "Could I, um, have that chocolate now?" You ask and the two of you burst out laughing. "Yeah..." he says and hands you the bar. You nibble at the chocolate. You look at Shawn. He looks away. He runs a hand through his hair. "Shawn, is something wrong?" You ask him. "N-no nothing's wrong..." he says. "Wanna watch a movie?" He asks. "Sure." You say. He turns on the tv and you put your head on his shoulder. You miss your parents and family, but like Shawn said, you had to move on.
