Xavier sat at the cute restaurant, drinking a freshly squeezed orange juice his favorite  as he waited for his childhood friend Mario to arrive. They had planned to meet for their usual Saturday morning catch-up, a tradition they had upheld since their school days although most weekends they don't get to meet due to their busy schedules or they exchange the usual Saturday routine meeting for another day of the week when the latter would not be available. Xavier glanced at his watch, noting that Mario was running late as usual.

He looked at the door just in time to see, Mario burst through the restaurant door with his usual energetic and attractive aura , a wide grin plastered across his face. "Sorry I'm late, bro!" he exclaimed, sliding into the seat opposite Xavier. "The meeting with the investors took longer than expected, we had to negotiate and reach a final standing that would make both parties satisfied at the end."

Xavier chuckled, shaking his head in amusement. "No worries, Mario. You're right on time, as always he said sarcastically." The two men shared a laugh, their easy going relationship with each other clearly evident to anyone who so much as glanced their way.

After ordering freshly squeezed juice courtesy of his health conscious friend , Xavier and Mario began their conversation, reminiscing about their shared childhood memories and catching up on each other's lives. Xavier, a dedicated doctor, spoke passionately about his work at the private hospital he owned, his eyes alight with enthusiasm explaining things about some happenings there, some mario understood others he just nods when xavier start speaking medical terms to him.

"And how about you, Mario?" Xavier asked, turning the conversation to his friend. "How's business?" He asked Mario considering his best friend owned a multi-million company and it was reputable at best. Both men where very well to do.

Mario's expression darkened slightly at the mention of his work. "Ah, you know how it is," he replied, running a hand through his hair. "Busy as ever. But hey, that's the price of success, right?"

Xavier nodded, though he couldn't shake the feeling that there was more to Mario's words than met the eye. His friend had always been ambitious, driven by a desire to succeed at any cost. But lately, Xavier couldn't help but sense a growing distance between them, a subtle change in their relationship dynamic that left him feeling unsettled.

As they chatted, Mario's phone buzzed with a message, and he excused himself to take the call. Left alone at the table, Xavier couldn't help but reflect on their friendship and the bond they shared. Despite their differences, he and Mario had always been there for each other, through thick and thin.

Xavier couldn't shake the feeling that something was amiss, he wondered when mario started keeping things from him and couldn't pick the call with him close by, a tension simmering just below the surface, threatening their friendship. And as he watched Mario return to the table with a forced smile plastered on his face, Xavier couldn't help but wonder what secrets his cheerful and bossy friend was hiding, ever since they were children they always shared things with one another.

Are you ok bro? Xavier asked Mario, who just nodded his head and continued the conversation from where they left off.
