1914

Growing up in Birmingham during the the 20th century was certainly an trying experience for Nora Parker who was abandoned by her father not long after she turned four as a result of her mother dying from an unsuccessful childbirth that resulted in not only her death but the death of the baby too. Although that's not to say that Nora was alone in the world because all of that she still had her big brother, James Parker, to look after her as well the Shelby family who had always been close to the Parker family as a result of the close links their parents had shared throughout their childhoods that reflected their own children's intertwining lives. It was 1914 as everyone in England tried to carry on as normal despite the growing tensions growing on in the world around them as the war to end all wars seems to becoming their reality which for the Parker and Shelby family members in Birmingham meant running the city as part of the gang they ran called the Peaky Blinders, while Nora couldn't actually become a Peaky Blinder due to her gender she was still heavily involved in the gang due to her brother and friends being members not to mention the love of her life. Nora wore her long gently curls down over her shoulders while placing half of it back and tying it in place with a piece of blue ribbon that matched her dress which was also blue with small white flowers on it to match the simple white lace around her sleeves and neckline as well as a pair of simple blue heels. She walked down the streets of Small Heath knowing no one would dare touch someone so close to the Peaky Blinders as she rounded the corner to join her brother as well as Arthur and John Shelby.

" well if it ain't little Miss Parker" Arthur said as the leader of the Peaky Blinders and the eldest Shelby sibling as he took of his newsboy hat that had razors sewn into it as part of the gang's signature

" you know if we didn't know you, we'd almost say that you look like a respectable young woman" James said as he looked at his sister from where he was on the wall as he passed John the cigarette he was smoking

" it's a shame that I can't say the same of you sorry three, hanging around here like the hooligans you are" Nora said as she gently and delicately pulled herself up to side of the small wall next to them

" hey so where's your usual shadow?" James said thinking about how it was rare to his younger sister on her own like this since she was usually accompanied with the second born Shelby son

" yeah, we figured he'd be with you since the two of you are usually stuck together like glue" John said with a snigger as he showed off his thick Birmingham accent as he thought of his best friend and older brother

" I don't know for once, all he said was that he had some business to attend to and would see me later. So your guess is as good as mine" Nora said with a smile as she thought about her and Thomas

" oh hey before I forget, aunt Pol told me to tell you to come round for dinner tonight. I think she misses you" Arthur said remembering the last thing that his aunt had called to him as he left the house
