"So, you're positive that wasn't Dart?" Lucas asked Dustin

"So, you're positive that wasn't Dart?" Lucas asked Dustin. We were in my car, driving to the Byers' house. If we were going to war like last year, the Byers' was the place to fight.

"Yes. He had the same yellow pattern on his butt," Dustin said.

"He was tiny two days ago," Max said.

"Well, he's molten three times already," Dustin said. Steve looked at him from the front seat.

"Malted?" He asked.

"Molten," Dustin corrected. "He sheds skin to make room for growth, like hornworms."

"Ew," I whispered.

"When's he gonna molt again?" Max asked.

"Gotta be soon," Dustin said. "When he does, he'll be fully grown or close to it. And so will his friends."

I shuddered at this. More than one Demogorgon. Ugh.

"Yeah, and he's gonna eat a lot more than just cats," Steve pointed out.

"Wait, a cat?" Lucas asked Dustin. "Dart ate a cat?"

"No, what? No!" Dustin covered quickly.

"What are you talking about? He ate Mews," Steve said and I elbowed him.

"Steve, shut up," I told him through gritted teeth.

"Mews? Who's Mews?" Max asked.

"It's Dustin's cat," Steve said. I smacked him upside the head.

"Ow!"

"Steve!" Dustin shouted.

"I knew it! You kept him!" Lucas shoved Dustin.

"Hey! No rough housing in my car!" I shouted at the kids.

"No, he missed me, he wanted to come home!" Dustin desperately tried to explained.

"Bullshit!" Lucas shouted at him.

"I didn't know he was a Demogorgon, okay?" Dustin shouted back.

"Oh, so now you admit it?" Lucas asked.

"Guys, who cares? We're almost at the Byers'," Max shook her head.

"I care! You put the party in jeopardy! You broke the rule of law!" Lucas shouted.

"So did you!"

"What?"

"You told a stranger the truth," Dustin shone a flashlight in Max's face.

"Wha— A stranger?" She scoffed.

"You wanted to tell her too!"

"Yeah, well, I didn't!" Dustin shouted. All of a sudden, there was a screeching in the distance.
