"Valen, I'm so sorry!" Gista's cries broke through my thoughts.

"...no, I wasn't paying attention," I quickly said, "this isn't your fault-"

Just then, another Pokemon walked up to the entrance. It was a brown bear with a yellow circle on its belly. I took a step back, ensuring that Gista remained behind me as Ursaring's pained eyes glared at us. Letting out a roar, it began to drum up its belly.

"Valen-" Gista called out and pointed at the Ursaring.

"Infernape, Aura Sphere!" I commanded as I let it out.

Infernape balled up an energy and blasted it towards Ursaring. Before it could launch any other attack, Ursaring fell down on its back and closed its eyes.

Just then, I could suddenly hear gurgling sound from the distance. I looked around to no avail, yet I could smell the scent of fresh water. Before I knew it, a huge wave of water rushed into the cave, washing us and the dead to the deeper part of the cave. From the corner of my eyes, I could see Gista's twintails and quickly reached for her hoodie. Her weak eyes just looked at me as she surrendered to the waves sweeping her away. Just as I managed to grab her hoodie, I spotted something shadowing over us. When I looked up, I spotted a huge blue creature with two fins on its head jumping over us. The fins on its arms swayed in the wind with its head as it dove back into the water.

The huge splash that came with her sent both Gista and I backward, bumping onto the cold, hard and wet cavern walls. As my feet found stable, though slippery footing on a nearby wall with a slope, I pulled myself up and climbed up, still with my feet in the waters.

How do I fight it now? I thought.

Right then, the realisation that Infernape was still out hit me. I turned to my left and right, my heart racing faster than ever. However, all I could find was the dark waters flowing towards the exit. The cave opening shone a dim light onto the surface, the wet rocky terrain glinting in the low lights. Yet I could see nothing resembling a Pokemon, dead or alive, except for the Swampert.

No.

No way.

That can't be.

Just then, Swampert raised its head as it cried out.

What do I do now? I thought and gritted my teeth, one mistake and...

But... if I don't fight back

I can't go back. And neither will this girl.

Moving my hand towards my thigh, I grabbed the first Pokeball on my arsenal and lifted it up. From the distance, I could see my hand trembling as it stretched itself towards the creature.

"Froslass, Blizzard!" I exclaimed as I let her out.

The moment Froslass jumped out of her Pokeball, she unleashed a powerful blast of cold air and snow. Putting an arm on my eye level, I could feel the icy wind numbed the tips of my fingers.  I closed my eyes, the stillness of the darkness set in as it swallowed the whole scene before them as I waited

And waited

And waited.

Silence fell. All I could feel was my racing heart and my wet clothes sticking to my skin.

Did we do it? I thought and slowly opened my eyes.

However, suddenly the ground started shaking violently. The view in front of me became no more than a dark blur. I soon found myself slipping and falling towards the ground. Acute pain spread from my bottom to the top of my head, as well as both of my palms which hit the rocky ground. Suddenly, I could hear some rumbles up ahead and found some debris falling from the cavern ceilings. I turned to my left, the young girl was laying on the ground, her back going up and down as she took in deep breaths. Suddenly, I could see a pair of fins heading right towards us.
