"I'm ho-!!!!" Joshua hollers as he walks into the kitchen and I shush him, pointing to the oversized ball of laziness sprawled behind me on the kitchen counter and that reeks of cheap alcohol, sweat and smoke. "You don't want to wake her up, do you?" I whisper fiercely in his ear, "Because if you do, you and I know that she will behave like a crazy overfed chipmunk that is ready to kill."

He backs away, his eyes widening at his near mistake, and then he snorts in amusement, immediately clamping a hand over his mouth, trying to avoid an eruption of boisterous laughter, either from my definition of angry Margaret or from the way she is half sprawled across the counter. He runs out of the kitchen and I can hear him laughing in the basement.

I tiptoe away and head to my room, dropping my bag on the floor and retrieving my notes from it. Pulling out my sketchpad, the drawing from earlier today falls out and lands on the floor. I sit on the floor, pulling my camera with me and run my fingers along the surface of the paper. I quickly take a picture and save it to my 'favourites' folder. I get up and sit at my table, ready to start reading for my exams tomorrow, Biology and Geography. Finishing three hours later, I head downstairs after changing to a pair of grey sweatpants and a blue varsity shirt.

Joshua is on the couch, playing GTA on his phone. Sneaking up on him, unnoticed, I grab the phone and pause the game. He shrieks in a high pitched voice and I cringed. I've had enough screeching and screaming from school but to get home and face it again is way too much.

He makes a grab at his phone and I dodge, holding it out of his reach. "Just give me my phone Thea, why are you such a bully?" He whines and I ruffle his hair,"Answer my question and the phone is all yours. Now... Have you finished your homework? "He looks away, staring at something behind me then he straightens and looks at me, his left hand twitching.   "Yes?" He says, more of a question than an answer. I stare at him, searching his green eyes, "you're lying." He looks up at me, shock and disbelief crossing his face, "I'm no-" I cut him off, "your left hand twitches when you lie, dolt" he looks an me again, his eyebrows furrowing as if he's thinking. "Okay, fine, I lied, sue me." I smirk and he trudges up the stairs, "I'll call you when dinner's ready, now go." He scowls and continues walking and I make my way to the kitchen to start preparing dinner. Thankfully, Margaret is no longer sprawled on the kitchen counter but I can hear her snoring loudly in her room.

There are three leftover tacos in the freezer from Margaret's party last week Friday. I put them in the microwave and start making a fruit salad, once I am done, I set a timer and head to the living room, plopping down on the couch and checking my email. The most recent one is a credit alert from my bank and I smile, opening my messages and sending a message to thank the person who paid for the art.

I open my Instagram account and check my profile to see that I have twelve new followers. The timer I set rings, jolting me out of my reverie and I rush to the kitchen, turning off the microwave. I run upstairs to call Joshua who is almost done with his homework and put Margaret's plate in the microwave again. I settle on the couch, munching away and Joshua comes in, trying to steal from my salad. I shove his hand away, "get your own." He reappears later, sitting next to me with a taco in his hands.

We sit in a comfortable silence for a while before he speaks,"can I have my phone back now?" He says, pieces of meat and vegetables lodged between his teeth as he chews. "Eww, disgusting." He swallows and smiles brightly at me, showcasing his vegetable-y teeth. I stifle my laughter and slide out my phone, taking a picture of him quickly. He frowms "Hey, what was that for?" I reply, humming, "nothing?" After a few moments of him glaring at me, I retrieve his phone from my pocket, handing it to him. He grabs it and quickly starts texting someone, "thanks." He mutters after I narrow my eyes at him. "Sufficient enough." I mumble, returning to my food.

My phone buzzes and I slide it out of my pocket and input my password. It was a message from Pyaara, asking whether I could meet up with her at 'mountain mocha cafe' tomorrow morning, before school and that she wanted to tell me something important.

I reply, assuring her that I would come and that she better order my usual. Satisfied with my reply, I head to the kitchen to wash my now empty taco plate and then head upstairs after telling Joshua to wash his plate and turn off all the lights when he was coming upstairs. Opening the door gently, I walk into my room and start picking up my stuff from the floor. I shove my camera into it's bag and collapse on the bed, ready to drift off into my own version of dreamland. I faintly hear Joshua coming upstairs and shutting his room door softly.

I fall asleep with a special drawing on my mind.
