The sound of water hitting the deck rung through my ears as I began to open my eyes. I sat up rubbing them as I looked out into the lake. The divine beast, Ruta, was still gushing out water like it had been for the past 5 days. I stood up and took my clothes off as I jumped into the lake. It was early in the morning so it was safe to say that I had some time to myself to bathe. It was dangerous to be this near to the divine beast but I didn't care, I always wanted a life of adventure filled with danger so this was nothing. I was grateful to have left home a month ago. Being a (r/o/c) had its ups and downs but I managed to make my dream of being a traveler flourish. I must admit...I did have help.
"YO (Y/N)! BREAKFAST IS READY!"
I looked over at the deck and sure enough there they were, my two traveling companions. I swam back to the deck and accepted Sönté's hand so I could get out of the water faster. Sönté wasn't very used to seeing me bare so he still blushed a bright blue when these sort of things happened. I didn't understand why since he was bare 24/7 due to him being a zora. On the other hand Mönté , a sheikah, would act like it was a normal thing and not put a single thought to it. I guess he was already used to seeing Sönté bare so he thought of it as nothing else. Either way I clothed myself rapidly once I was under the gazebo.
"..this divine beast keeps weeping, I fear it will flood my home soon if somebody doesn't heal its' suffering..."
Sönté was staring at Ruta as he ate a raw fish. He looked rather sad. He was the emotional one from us three. Sometimes I wished I could feel and bond the same way he did with everything around him. Goodness sake! Apparently cold and distant Mönté warmed up to him as soon as they met!
"I'm sure Prince Sidon will find a Hylian to plug up that rock's weird nose. Maybe if my people hadn't butted in 100 years ago your home wouldn't be in danger and we could all be on our way...yo (y/n) aren't you gonna eat? It's gonna get cold"
I looked at Mönté and nodded as I sat next to him. Fish and rice. I smiled and began eating. I assumed this was Mönté's suggestion. We had gotten in an argument yesterday and I knew for a fact that when he cooked this it was a form of apology.
"Thank you for the meal. Let me cook next time so you both can rest a little more. I'll make (f/f) so you both can finally try it"
They both looked at each other. They were giving each other grins. I started feeling embarrassed, had I forgotten something?
"kind (y/n) it would be an honor to stuff our bellies with your cooking. It has been long since we ate a de-"
Mönté was covering his mouth as he stood on his tippy toes. His silver hair fell over his eyes as he turned around to look at me.
"You'll cook tonight if that thing is still keeping us here. Now let's go. We have to investigate that shrine near the statue of the pretty zora girl"
"Her name is Mipha Mönté! She was the beacon of hope for us zora!"
I ran after them as both ran towards the domain. Sönté's little sister was waiting for us at the entrance of the shrine.
"Big brother! You came to see us again!"
She hugged his leg as Sönté patted her small head. Little as she was she was actually older than me. I was just (a/a) while she was already 58! Zora's aged differently. Mönté had informed me that Sönté was actually 124 while he was 24 going onto 25. They had apparently been traveling together since Mönté was 13. I on the other hand had just met them last month.
"Mommy said that Prince Sidon brought a Hylian to the domain! She said he'll appease Ruta and we can finally go to the Bank of Wishes! Maybe you'll get lucky this time and a girl will reply to your letter and not Mönté"
She giggled as Mönté blushed a bright red.
"In my defense your brother has very pretty handwriting so I thought he was a girl. Besides I found my best friend so it wasn't that bad."
"That's right! If I hadn't met him we both wouldn't have met (y/n) and we both know how much you adore them."
Sönté pinched her cheek as Mönté leaned on the pedestal infront of the shrine.
"Have you seen this Hylian he brought? He better not be like those losers that were just in it for the praise."
"You're just saying that because you're mad your wrist is hurt"
Mönté glared at me as I gave him a smirk. I was actually curious to see who this Hylian was. Since I wasn't doing much here I excused myself and went to the goddess statue right outside the throne room. I couldn't quite see as I kneeled down but I could hear a conversation happening. Golden locks. A blondie huh. If I stayed here a little longer maybe I could catch a look at this person...but I sure was getting soaked. Suddenly a big zora ran out chasing an older looking zora. I assume the big one is Sidon, looks princely enough. I stood up and met eyes with a Hylian standing at the last step of the stairs next to the goddess statue.
"...oh hey....!"
I sheepishly waved at him. Holy hotness this guy was hot! That golden hair flowed perfectly down his face. Oh his face! It looked as if the goddesses themselves had chiseled it to perfection. Those beautiful eyes reminded me of the sapphires Mönté kept under his pillow. But...what was he doing with his hands??
Link's Pov:
As I made my way downstairs following Muzu and Sidon a moving figure caught my eye. As they stood up I couldn't stop from staring. Their (h/c) hair was all tangled up. Had they just woken up maybe? Either way if they didn't get out of the rain they would get sick soon. As I was about to say something a silver haired male appeared behind them. He held a thousand swords with that look he was giving me. I decided to do hand signals in hopes they would understand I was warning them about the creep behind them. Maybe I wasn't clear? They were giving me a confused look. I just sighed, smiled at them, waved and ran to find Sidon. Hopefully they wouldn't be in danger.
Your Pov:
I was so confused. What was he trying to say??? Suddenly he smiled at me and waved. I felt my heart skip a beat as that smile radiated from him. It was as if the evening sun was kissing my skin after a rainy day. I stepped back a little and bumped into someone. I turned around and saw Mönté.
"M-Mönté! What are you doing here? I know it's not to pray you said you didn't like that"
"That boy is followed by evil...I don't like his vibes but that blue tunic he wore I swear i've seen it somewhere. A long time ago perhaps"
"Oh Mönté you're just being silly"
I playfully punched his chest as he stared at me. I smiled at him and grabbed his arm pulling him back downstairs to the shrine. I liked him. He always saw into things deeper than anyone and would warn Sönté and I of potential danger. He was like the fire in a cold night. It was there to keep you warm but as beautiful as it looked it was forbidden to touch. Sönté was writing in his diary when we got back. Meili had fallen asleep next to him.
"I do hope that Hylian saves my home...I wouldn't want to lose my family"
Mönté sat next to him and laid his head on Sönté's lap. We both liked it when Mönté did this, he was about to speak words of wisdom! He took out a pepper from his thigh bag and bit right into it. We waited for him to speak and when he finally did Sönté and I both stayed silent.
"That Hylian is a failure"
