"Don't talk- don't smile- You will give them expectations"

A voice echoed in her head- repeating the same message, the same sentence.

Over... and over.. and over again.

She sat there in silence. She was on the brink of tears, but she didn't dare to cry. She gulped as she felt a hand touch her cheeks softly, it carresed her cheekbone with it's thumb softly.

"I will come back for you."

She shot her eyes up, realizing it was just a dream- a nightmare. Shivers sent to her spine. She shuddered at the reminder. Just like that voice in her head- she repeated the same sentence to herself.

"Don't talk- don't smile- You will give them expectations." She repeated it's-no his words, a horrid look in her eye.

"Will he come back for me?" She questioned herself. Questioned his words in her nightmare ▪her memory▪.

"Please don't." She said as she pulled her knees to her chest, and rested her head. Tears slowly drip from her pale-yellow eyes as she craddled herself to sleep.

The warm sunlight grazed upon her eyelids, a sense of warmth graced her as she slowly lifts her eyes open- she was no longer in her original position, she was probably moved mildst the night.

She slowly sat up and rubbed her eyes which had some mucus in her eyes. She yawned softly and covered her mouth while doing so.

Her father who was on the otherside of the room was feeling mixed feelings for this child. He is very worried for his daughter. But, he is suspecting the fact that the girl inside is truly his daughter.

This lingering feeling of his, feeling like something was incredibly out of the ordinary. Actually it has been like something is wrong, since that day.

He has always thought that it was just a phase, but she acts too mature than 10 year olds. She acts way too different than them too. But now this? She suddenly had a breakdown as she spoke an unknown entity in her slumber.

And the most shocking fact to him is somehow he doesn't feel bad or sad. He chuckled at his own feelings. 'I guess even if she isn't my real daughter, all the years of memories, all of them was real, all of the fun I had with her. All was real to me.' He smiled softly at himself.

'But, I still need to know the truth, I am her "father" after all.' He thought as he snickered at his own thoughts, he puts his knuckle at her door, and took a breath in before knocking softly thrice.

"Mel, or is that what I should call you?" Aster said, making the girl confused and shock in the process.

"What do you mean?" Not in her best state, she panicked, her voice shakens and as well spoke a full sentence.

"It's okay- I am not mad at you. I just want to know the truth- I am stilly our father right now, right?" The father said calmly as he chuckled.

The girl nodded meakly, though still shaken and breathing heavily, he smiled nervously, trying to comfort her and calm her down, as it finally worked, she decided to explain to him in simple sentences.

"Uh- I live in another world, when I opened my eyes, I was here." She said. Aster not understanding anything, showing a confused face and bombarded her with questions.

She tried to explain it as clearly as possible, but years of not talking much, not using much energy and not socializing much makes her quite bad at it.

Aster grasped her situation quite well, he believed her words truthfully. Though the way some of his questions was going made her uncomfortable, but the guy read the mood well and didn't ask further.

Aster frowned bitterly, his own daughter doesn't want to open up to him, how could he feel all bubbly and happy. He shook his head of deppressing thoughts and forced a smile.

When he tried to question about her world any further, or the people in her life, she would shake in fear and have a terrified look on her face as her eyes grew teary and she unconciously rubbed her hand.

Not wanting her to be even more uncomfortable, he shrugged the question off and laughed half-heartedly.

With an aching in his chest, he smiled to hide the pain. He averts his eyes to his daughter again- to then see severe pain in her eyes.

He genuinely smiled as he decided to just be patient for her to open up to him, since from her actions and look it can be easily denoted that the topic is forbidden for her.

Up from high above, he showed a look full of pain and regret. 'If only I was earlier.' As a thought lingers in his head and the other thought creeping around was a hope for her to find happiness once again.

Because his mistake was the one who destroyed all her trust and happiness in Gods and Life. His mistake ruined her life.

"I am incredibly sorry, for the ruin of your life was my mistake." He said and frowned regretfully.

"Now you are all in this mess and his location is still unknown. Indeed, what a big mess this is." He frowned even more and voiced his dillema in such a low pitched voice.

Months passed since "that". It has been weirdly normal and nothing much had changed.

Caramel continued her daily life, lazing around, eating, sleeping and reading books when she is bored. She find studying quite interesting now, because she no longer feel pressured and she can study whatever she would like to learn.

Though not all things can be understood by just reading, some things were confusing for her, topics such as Politics, and Magic stumped her greatly.

She needed somebody else to teach her these things, or at least buy her a book that is easier to understand.

She had asked her father once to help her- but she instantly regretted it when she found out, her father not doing his job properly to teach her.

So she decided to just ask her servants to pick suitable tutors for her. She was actually too lazy to get out of her bed to pick them personally, but one could just think she trust those servants greatly. Which she does, but that was not the main reason for her actions.

The servants, who love the young lady of the house to death, sincerely searched for the best tutors, they had contacted a lot of people, surveyed the commoners, the nobles, even the royals!

It was that much until it became a rumor well known accross the kingdom, it was hard for Aster's assistant to block all those from Aster's ears. If Aster were to know, he would follow the search in a heartbeat.

These rumors reached the ears of an old man, who was eager for a successor of his knowledge. He needed a student, for his time in the world is little, and he wanted to bestow his knowledge, his magic, and he happen to hear that Caramel was a prodigy, which could only be found in trillions of years.

Exactly what he needed. He found the ideal student, he just hoped he would be able to teach her everything about this world before he leaves this world.

He contacted the Ace House immediately, which bring shock to the society, because they had tried to make this old man teach their child for years but never accepted anyone as his student.

The Ace House knowing this man's reputation, accepted, though there were still doubts in their mind.

The old man and Caramel's maid arranged a schedule for their lessons together. While Caramel is still slumping over her bean bag and let out a yawn.

A/N: It's going to get a bit more twisted and depressing, but I still put a lot of light hearted romance, comedy sprinkled upon.
