Lyria Damos, princess of the human kingdom of Urmylia. Sick of her parents making her act princess-like, she often sneaks out of the castle to have time on her own. And ever since she saw a mage perform a spell, she has always wanted to learn magic.
Owyn Calder, an orphaned boy who loves dragons. After running away from the orphanage, sick of their mistreatment, he lived on the street, sleeping in his various hideouts. As a thief, he stole food, and things that interested him, like books and old relics.
