Chapter 8

Slowly, I got out of my bed so that I won't wake up Rose and arranged the comforter on her. I went out of the room and saw that everything was in order, except for the LED which I "intentionally" broke. I held my head which was no longer hurting. I felt better after Rose took care of me.

I looked at the time. 9:00 PM. Already feeling hungry, I went to the kitchen to get some food. With not so much sound, I cooked special adobong baboy. Afterwards, I prepared the table for dinner. I made iced tea juice in a pitcher.

When everything was set, I went inside my room and saw that Rose removed the comforter I put on her. She was in a kind of position that no typical girl would be. Her legs were spread out, as well as her hands. She slept like a boy. I was amused by mere sight of it..

I went on her side and gently tapped her shoulder to wake her up.

"Rose," I said in like a murmuring voice. "Wake up."

Rose did not move. I went to her nearer and saw that her hair covered a part of her face. I slowly slided her hair away, and saw her angelic face again. God! I was really tantalized. Slowly, I went in front of her face. I went nearer and nearer until I was only inches away from her face.

But Rose suddenly moved. My eyes widended and immediately pulled myself away from her. She stretched her arms first before opening her eyes to look at me. I did not know what to do then so I simply said to her.

"I'm sorry. I was just going to wake you up."

"Ano?" Rose asked while curiously looking at me. "Nagso-sorry ka dahil ginigising ako?"

I did not know what to say. I did not know what to do either. My heart suddenly was beating so fast. I thought maybe because I was nervously thinking if she felt my face was inches from hers. I could not even look at her straight.

Then, Rose sniffed out from nowhere. "Uhm! Ang bango no'n ha. Nagluto ka?"

"Yes," I replied while she got out from the bed. I stood up as well.

"Halika na!" She replied while pulling my hand as we went to the kitchen. "Anong niluto mo?"

Rose saw the food I prepared earlier. "WOW! Adobo! Me favorito!"

I knew you'll like it, Rose, I said to myself. That's my specialty.

"Let's eat?" I offered her with a smile.

"Let's. Nagutom ako sa pag-aalaga sa'yo"

We sat on the table and started to eat after praying. Rose was really hungry because she ate heavily. I stared at her and smiled. When Rose noticed me staring at her, she shot a look at me.

"Bakit? Gutom ako."

"No problem at all. Sarap mo nga tingnan." Damn, where did that come from?

"Ano?"

"I meant, ang sarap mong tingnan kumain."

"Nakakagutom ka nga kasing alagaan. Ang grabe ba naman ang lagnat mo kanina."

It was a good thing that she arrived. Or else, I might be in somebody else's hospital room by now.

"By the way, maayos na ba ang pakiramdam mo?" She asked me while trying to reach my forehead to check it herself. I didn't bother moving while she did it.

"Yes. My body still hurts a bit though. But my head's pretty well." I smiled at her.

"Ano ba kasi nangyari sa 'yo kagabi?"

"Long story."

"I have time."

"Maybe next time."
